Probably a mix of personal reasons, having a degree from Stanford, and playing for the biggest shitshow organization in MLS.
The Fire are an embarrassment to the league an have completely failed to make any impact in that market. They might as well not exist. I hope MLS buys out the awful stadium lease, folds the Fire, and starts over in Chicago with a new, competent organization. They literally only have 8 players under contract for next season right now. Eight.
I would hate drastic measures like that being necessary, but the Fire are Chivas USA level terrible from top to bottom. The league is better off blowing it up and starting over in Chicago. A Chicago team in MLS could easily reach Seattle’s level of support if the team was good, didn’t alienate Hispanic fans, and actually played in Chicago. The Fire will never do anything in their current position.

Gedion Zelalem made his return from injury today, coming on as a second half substitute in Arsenal U21's EFL Trophy match against Cheltenham Town.
His last game was on May 28, 2017 for VVV Venlo.
If you're counting, that's 551 days between matches.
Great to see him back ?????? LINK

Today's update on #Schalke #TeamUSA: Zyen #Jones is currently doing light rehab training in #S04's #U19 team, Nick #Taitague has rejoined Haji #Wright with the #U23 team at 100%. "I'm feeling great" he told me, so hoping he'll continue to do so

Indiana Vassilev made his 3rd appearance for Aston Villa's U23s this year, getting a 20 minute cameo yesterday against West Brom U23s. For a 17 year old, getting minutes for the U23s is a good sign. Over half of West Brom's Starting XI had made Premier League appearances. LINK

No Sargent again. Hopeful we’ll see a change for Sunday’s squad.

Pulisic with a goal and an assist. He also drew a penalty that Reus converted that was the game winner.

Can Puerto Ricans play for the USMNT or do they have to play for Puerto Rico? Do they get cap tied to Puerto Rico (I'm guessing yes since it is a FIFA sanctioned/recognized team).

People on Reddit are expecting FC Dallas to officially announce their new USL team today, which they’ve hinted at for months now.
Great news for all US Soccer fans. Now all those elite prospects Dallas produces will have more opportunities to get minutes and further their development. Just look at the NY Red Bulls system to see how important that is.
