Here's how the #USMNT U20s lined up for their second friendly with France this morning. 0-0 at the half. We look a bit more dangerous, but also more susceptible at the back. LINK
A few thoughts on the match, which the U.S. won 1-0: Pretty even. I'd give France a slight edge on the run of play, though they weren't at all clinical in the attacking third. Overall, the U.S. just wasn't clean enough to consistently threaten a physical, technical opponent.
The new additions at fullback — Sergino Dest and Jake Morris — were too loose in possession, as was Chris Goslin, who came off at halftime. Richie Ledezma again made a strong case for himself at the 6. He was calm, showed a lot of passing range and demanded the ball.
Carleton was so-so and Sargent didn't get much service. The two were involved in the best chance of the first half for the U.S. Carleton won the ball from a CB and squared Sargent. Should have been selfish but squared to Shaft Brewer, whose shot was saved. LINK
Brewer at RW was hard-working, but his touch failed him a few times and that stunted the attack. Llanez at LW was cleaner, and earned some space, but wasn't going to beat one of those French fullbacks 1v1. He cut inside and caused problems, creating a chance for Carleton here. LINK

Carleton is leaving the U20 camp. Possibly to rejoin AUFC for their next game.

Durkin is getting a start for DC against Columbus.

Good, he should have been starting for a while now. Hopefully Ben Olsen has finally seen the light. Play the kids, if they’re good enough.

Paxton Pomykal told me after #FCDvSEA last night that he is no longer going to U-20 camp this week. Have to think that means he’ll play a role this weekend vs. Portland.
Sat on the bench

LAFC is supposed to sign one of Benfica's CMs that is out on loan at Braga. Should clear a little room for Parks.

Okay so @_LM97 to @fcbaltimore1729 is the first, wish him luck.
The second: Joe Gyau, who will be making a move this summer, club TBA not MLS. Joe went to Bundesliga 3, put the work in, got first team matches, reaping rewards from hard work. Hopefully same for both guys #dmv

Source: No loan plans for USA wunderkind Josh Sargent

But sources tell Metro that all that might change soon as Sargent is expected to be a part of the senior squad ahead of the preseason this summer. While that seems an eternity away and can certainly change, it is a promising sign for the young American that his new club sees him on the cusp of a senior team debut.

I would love to see Gyau get a shot at a better league and work his way back into the fold. He was so dominant for our youth teams.

Moses Nyeman, 14, is playing for DC United’s U17s at #GACup. Rough tournament for #DCU but Nyeman, who’s gotta be one of the youngest players in the tournament, looks way beyond his years as a center mid.

I was on my phone and just copied the whole tweet. The 1st part of it was the important part.

No I was just pointing it out. That kid looks legit but I try not to get my hopes up about 14 year olds haha.
Posted on 3/27/18 at 9:36 pm to cwil177
Oh yeah. Same here, but if there's a 14 year old playing up with the U17s, he might be worth keeping an eye on.

I mean frankly, I would say we realized Pulisic was elite when he kept playing up. Hope this kid can keep it going, obviously.

I’m loving our youngsters to the Bundesliga pipeline we’ve got going. Perfect league for them to develop in. Challenging, but they can still break through.

FC Dallas is losing another one. Source tells me 16-year-old USYNT forward Jamie Dunning is moving to Feyenoord after a successful trial. Hugely promising No. 9 prospect escapes abroad.
