not sure if he lacks passing range or if he always makes the simpler, safer pass.
That's why I see so much of a DLP. He's like Busquets in the passes he chooses to make until he plays the killer through ball. He even has Busquets build and sort of languid style. I wouldn't mind if he developed into our Busquets.

there is a thread on the city message board about yedlin. the majority of the posters were impressed enough to want to sign him.

this guy gets it
quote:
He's a speed merchant who was doing speed merchant things against a CB playing as a LB. He was dynamic today and deserves kudos, but he was also playing practically as a wing back and wasn't really much defensively. He probably couldn't make a bigger mistake than trying to sign for a big club right now, he should angle for a move to a place where he can play and become a complete defender.

Didn't include Sebastian Lletget because I followed him on twitter and found out that he's a guido.

Why no McInerney and Nagbe? Two guys who have probably 50-60 MLS goals between them and are under 24?
Jack Mac's been called to camp. Nagbe would too, but he's not eligible yet. Will soon. Married an American Girl which cuts the wait from 5 to 3.

Yea he's shorter, but that's not a bad thing in soccer. He's lower to the ground and harder to knock off the ball and is way more compact than Zelalem. Zelalem's so lanky and that's what hurts him the most right now from a physical side.
Zelalem will have 1 offseason in the next 2 years where he bulks up a good bit. Remember, he's been at Arsenal for just over a year. Before that he was playing high school soccer in the US. He's just begun his training at a top academy, while Crowley was at Aston Villa when he was 12 and has been in an academy ever since. That's a big advantage IMO.
Crowley is gonna be a player as well. And he is probably a "safer" prospect than Zelalem is at the moment. Meaning I seriously doubt Crowley flames out of something like that. He has less of a chance to be a busy. But I do think Zelalem's ceiling is higher than Crowleys.
Both should be fantastic though.

Probably by the time he's 18. Don't think that's any realistic worry though as of now
esp since he moved there with his american family

You could add Shawn Parker too, but he's more than likely staying with Germany.
He isn't at that level yet. Germany if anything will cap him to keep him going anywhere else than never call him up again. Thats what they do.

If this is a thread for young players + Americans abroad, then may as well just make it for all potential USMNT players.

It's now the pvilleguru needs to shut the frick up thread, IMO.
