Mario Rodriguez scored in Gladbach's first preseason friendly.
I read on an article that he is with the first time now and he has a chance to stay with thim during season. His coach was impressed and said that Mario has the skills they are currently looking for in a forward.
Also, US soccer had had Berti Vogts there scouting him heavily.

Would be nice to have two Americans with the first team of a CL club.

I assume Nagbe never played for Liberia and is waiting to get US citizenship?

Correct, and supposedly the fact that he is married to an American helped to expedite the process.

Yes, he has been waiting to get his USA passport so that he can play for the USMNT. He has repeatedly been asked to play for Liberia.

Liberia was in the middle of a civil war when he and his family arrived in the country so they were given refugee status. It only takes people with that 2 to 3 years to get their citizenship, I guess he still qualifies that way even though the Liberian civil war ended close to 12 years ago.

I love America. Best fricking country in the world. And one day we are going to be the best soccer nation as well. May not be during my lifetime but it will happen, mark my words.

I really do believe the USA is destined to be a world power in soccer. We're already seeing a dramatic increase in interest amongst young Americans.
