His Wikipedia makes it seem like he's a free agent. Sounds like he's in talks with Hannover.

I have mixed feelings about it. He would have gotten consistent playing time in the Dutch league, but in Germany I'm not so sure.

Hannover isn't exactly blessed with a full cupboard of strikers. If he is worth the USMNT's time, he'll find a way on the field.

Zardes bagged another one for LA this weekend. I feel like I've already said it a hundred times, but I fully expect to see him in the next round of friendlies. He's the total package, young, strong, fast, and scoring goals. Not the world class striker we've been looking for, but a useful squad player, no doubt. He's certainly capable of making the move abroad. Arena has been extremely high on him for quite some time now too.
