It’s all based on the draw but Italy and Portugal have to be two of the three favorites.

And I’m sure they will find a way that they don’t get drawn into the same pod as the two seeded teams.

Algeria drew Burkina Faso this morning to stay ahead of them and win their group

This afternoon Ivory Coast and Cameroon square off to see who wins that group. IC has 13 points and Cameroon has 12 so they need to win

Tunisia and Equitorial Guinea tied on points atop the table but Tunisia has a 6 GD advantage. Tunisia plays Zambia and EG has Mauritania

Netherlands (20pts), Turkey (18pts), and Norway (18pts) are the three to keep track of today in UEFA qualifying.

All fantastic choke artists trying to secure one top spot and automatic WC qualification. Should be a great follow.

Netherlands vs Norway
Montenegro vs Turkey

Axel Witsel has had an odd career.
Spent his prime in Russia and China, and is now playing in Germany for Dortmund at age 32.

Witsel is 32. Just been around since his late teens as solid but unspectacular player.

African qualifying sucks so bad. Côte d’Ivoire had a 4-1-1 record and got eliminated for the second straight cycle.

Turkey up 2-1 and into the 2nd place playoff spot.

Norway currently tied with Netherlands, but can finish first in the group and knock Netherlands out completely with a goal.
