and that I just watched City of God this past weekend.

FYI, the games will in fact NOT be played on the same field that they were playing on at the start

Hopefully, they will finish their new airport in time. Their current airport is tiny.

Yeah the new airport is crucial. Will drop flight prices and be the largest in south America I believe.

I'll be there. Looking forward to it.

Doing everything through a travel group. Expensive but I don't have to worry about a thing...except for getting robbed or kidnapped

I plan on going but I want to hit up Rio and Salvador. Only problem is I have no idea what teams will be playing in those two cities but I'm sure it will be fun regardless. Just being over there with all the fans would be an event in itself.

I wouldn't hesitate to travel to Brazil. When tourists come to New Orleans, they don't go to housing projects. Those places don't define NOLA as an unsafe place for visitors. So why then are people scared of Brazil because it's enormous cities have dangerous slums? How naive would you be to not think that some of the biggest cities in South America have unsafe neighborhoods? There won't be any reason for Soccer tourists to have to come close to those places. They will be in fancy hotels, tourist bars, world class beaches, and sparkling new stadiums.

I've done enough traveling around the world in some places a lot more dangerous than Brazil to know that 99.999999% of people in the world don't want to hurt you, especially if you're dropping your fat american dollars in their country. I think a lot of Americans have a paranoid notion of the world and travel. It would be the experience of a life time.

Oh I agree 100%
It's a once in a lifetime opportunity in my opinion.
