If tweet fails to load, click here. I keep coming across ancelotti vs endrick memes and they’re fantastic.

Thanks to the USA's 2-0 win and a 10-man Paraguay side holding on for a 1-0 win over Turkiye... the USA has won Group D while Turkiye will be eliminated at the end of the group stage
The USA has 6 points, a +5 goal differential, wins over Paraguay & Australia, and are headed to the knockout round as the Group D Champions
Paraguay & Australia are both on 3 points. Their match against each other Thursday will determine which team takes 2nd place, and with it a guaranteed spot in the knockout round, & which will fall to 3rd, and potentially go home after Thursday night. Australia has a 0 GD while Paraguay is at -2.
Turkiye has 0 points, a -3 GD, and is locked in as the 4th place, eliminated team in the group with losses to both Australia & Paraguay.
Crazy to think the USA match has no ramifications while the Paraguay/Australia match will mean everything... almost might be worth skipping the USA/Turkiye match for Australia/Paraguay since they'll be kicking off at the same time

There is no reason to play the Turkey game. That’s the problem with the head to head tiebreaker change.

And a draw favors Australia. GD comes into play and theirs is better than Paraguay. Paraguay has to win to guarantee advancement and they have to do it without Almiron.

frick that. This is a prime opportunity for the US to try all kinds of shite, take huge risks with the aggressive attack, and develop some younger guys on the biggest stage. This is quite literally a dream scenario.

We also haven't beaten a UEFA team since 2022 (and that was a Camp Cupcake match against Bosnia)
Even though there are no stakes, so its not the end of the world if we lose, but I think if we want to make a run in the knockouts, this team needs to get the confidence that it can beat a Euro squad.
