I think they hold him out until they are absolutely certain he is good to go. Would rather have him healthy for Guatemala in a few weeks

Yes, minus a few injuries for Brazil this is their A squad. It's the team they're putting together for the next World Cup.

For the USA, according to Klinsman, if the world cup were next week. This would be our 23 man roster.

Also, why worry about bringing in people who might not be 100% yet when our 11 clearly gelled last week? (even though it was scotland)

Plus if we lose to Brazil we can say we didn't have Dempsey or Altidore. It's a win/win

I think Gomez will start in front of the same midfield that played Scotland. Replace Cameron with Gooch and that's your 11.

Is Gooch back to form?

Not in the midfield - they have zero players from their 2010 WC squad in that group. I know most of these guys have taken huge setbacks in the last two years, but surely their top team would have a few of these names: Kaka, Elano, Julio Baptista, Ramires, Gilberto Silva, and Kleberson.

Maybe Ramires

The rest of them are older

I don't know about that. They have a reallly reallly young squad. It is their A-squad for the future.

No, Robinho, Alves, Cesar, Ganso (due to injury), MAYBE Ronadinho (He has been getting a lot of call ups lately), maybe Kaka, Ramires, Maicon.

Alves, Ganso, and David Luiz were all dropped due to injuries.

Ramires and Robihno may be the only exclusions that will play future meaningful minutes for Brazil.

?????

These guys, except Ramires, are not Brazil's current A squad.

They're just not.

There's definitely a huge youth movement but I also get the sense that there's not really a set A-squad. Aside from Thiago Silva, Neymar, Dani Alves, Marcelo it seems they're trying a lot of different faces. I was hoping to see Casemiro, Oscar, Moura listed.

Baptista's a member of the A-Team these days in about the same capacity as MR.T is.

Just wanted to drop in and casually brag that I'll be at the match tomorrow, 3 rows behind goal, straight laser-pointing my eyes at Tim Howard's* arse

(*or whatever beautiful American stallion GK we field)
