The Azerbaijani league is probably ranked higher than the SPL at this point.

Do you think DS follows one of the Baku teams? They're rich in oil too.

When 10 out of 12 teams play in stadiums that hold less than 10,000 people, that will happen.

What if the EPL banned Welsh teams like Swansea and Cardiff. When PSG got butthurt over Monaco's new ownership, they tried that.

Has it ever been in discussion to have celtic go play english teams, considering the premier league has welsh teams.

Because they've defended really resolutely and Celtic has played as poorly as I've seen them play in Europe in several years (ok, excepting the Legia Warsaw games). Point is, Celtic won. Win the playoff and they're into the CL proper.

And they'll get raped like a catholic altar boy in group play.

I'm Catholic, but I still support Rangers over Celtic.

So I'm gonna go with "frick Celtic" as my answer.

I was on a job in Sevilla, and had the dubious fortune of seeing both CL Celtic one year, and CL Rangers the following.

Both fan bases were quite similar....

Don't be bitter StraightCash--Rangers are languishing in the 2nd tier while Scotland will be playing in CL...must be sad.

We didn't struggle. They had one real chance over two legs. With better finishing, we win about 5-0 on agg.

There was also the issue of a terrible, awful pitch that literally caught fire on Sunday.

Also, that Azerbaijani team has had some pretty good results. Last year they nearly knocked Inter out (goal wrongly disallowed) and they beat Dnipro.

ETA:

Match write-up from a guy who cried on air when the Huns went bust
quote:

It is a measure of the growth of Ronny Deila's team that they managed the challenge almost flawlessly.

...

The overall sense, though, was of a mature, resounding performance built on the soundness of Celtic's defence and the ferocious work rate of the players.

...

A one-goal lead from the first-leg was a precious but fragile cargo to carry into Azerbaijan, but Deila's side never looked like surrendering it.
