Where does 2003-04 Arsenal fall on the list of all time greats? Seems to be the track for Liverpool.

Definitely one of the best ever league seasons they had a ton of draws tho

This Liverpool team will be looked at much better if they go unbeaten

shite some people look at the one loss Chelsea side better than that Arsenal team

Yeah, mainly was going off of unbeaten in league + no FA cup. Though arsenal got bounced from the CL that year too. Guess it was a big deal bc no one had gone unbeaten in league since like 1899 or something.

does it count to you if they lose any after the league is clinched?

Well that’s the point of an unbeaten season

Is to finish the whole season unbeaten and not taking the foot off the pedal after you win it.

The best teams ever win trebles

Or they go 34-4-0 and repeat as champions league winners

That still doesn’t top a treble

There is a reason only a handful of clubs in Europe have done

When Klopp put out a full youth side vs Villa they lost 5-0

The U-23 manger came out and side it will be mostly 18 year olds out there

United won the league on 79 points that year which included 13 draws.

Not to take anything away from winning a treble, but when you get into these conversations you have to split hairs somewhere

I’m sure they would have had more points if they only focused on the league

This kind of the point in why a treble is hard to do

We’ll see how the end up the rest of the year. If they finish the season unbeaten and also repeat in the Champions League then I think you’d have to say that’s the more impressive feat, FA Cup or no FA Cup.

I feel like with all the money in football compared to when United did it winning a treble was way more impressive then. Barca have done it twice, Inter once and Bayern as well and that was just in the last decade alone.

That’s a good point

Tv money has dictated how big clubs see certain competitions

If the FA cup gave more money the brass at Liverpool would tell Klopp to take is more seriously

No one takes it that serious until they find themselves in the quarterfinals

That’s no true

Basically everyone not in the top six at the time takes it seriously

Especially if you 3rd round match is vs another EPL side

Idk you see a lot of squad rotation among the teams at the bottom of the table. IIRC there was a spate where pretty much every non big 6 side that made a deep cup run were on the relegation battle. Wigan winning it and then going down was the culmination.

With the cup, it also depends on the luck of the draw really... from year to year, each path can be so very different...
