See, the fact that you consider my opinion "dishonest" shows exactly why you're biased. You take every opportunity to shite on MLS and I'm not even talking about these kind of threads. You must be a hit at the pubs, mate.

I think one of the big reasons MLS hasn't won the CCL is because the Liga MX teams are in mid season form when they get to the later stages. This is when the MLS season is just getting started.

I think MLS is one of the top 20 leagues in the world. The problem is it's tough to compare European Leagues with Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, the US, and Japan since they rarely face each other. The European leagues are ranked every year, but it really just looks at the top 3-4 teams in each league.
For a league like MLS, this is tough because there is unprecedented parity in MLS due to the salary cap and the goals of MLS execs. Basically every other league has superstar teams at the top and absolutely horrible sides at the bottom. I'd say EPL has by far the best 18th place teams in the world. After that, it's a competitive race to the bottom.
I don't see how it is even an argument about Ligue 1 being a top 10 league in the world. Of course it. It's not even close.
The only leagues you can even argue being better than Ligue 1 are EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Brazil, Argentina, and Liga MX. Anything else isn't even close, and I'm doubtful that Argentina's league is better than Ligue 1 (and probably MX as well). So you can conservatively call Ligue 1 the 6th or 7th best in the world.
I'd rank the following leagues about MLS
EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Liga MX, Argentina, Brazil, Russia, Portugal, Ukraine, Turkey, Greece, Netherlands, and the Championship. Maybe I am missing another 1 or 2, but that's it. Puts us right at 16th. And that's looking at let's say the 5th best team in each league along with the 5th best MLS team. If we look at the 15th best team, MLS would do a hell of a lot better than 16th in the world.

You don't think the top 8 or 9 teams could compete in the Championship or the Segunda? Because that's what he's saying.
Looking at some of the miserable sides in La Liga's relegation zone, it takes a lot to say that they couldn't compete against teams that are markedly worse than those teams.
At this point, the average American starter is better than the average Turkish starter for sure. The big difference is the quality of the foreigners, although MLS is getting good Central American players into the league.

SPFL
2 Bundesliga
Belgium
Arguably Denmark, Segunda, Chile

All of those are very debatable, especially if we aren't comparing champions to champions.

If you have Greece on there, you have to have the first 3.

I think MLS teams (except Chivas) could beat those teams in one-off games.
You couldn't pick up an MLS team and drop them in the Championship. The depth of "talent" in MLS is not the same as the Championship. MLS teams go 10-15 deep with Graham Zusi/Matt Besler/Mix Diskerud/Herculez Gomez/Jose Torres level talent. Championship teams (and Mexican teams, etc.) go 25-30 players deep at that talent level.
Salary caps are expanding, and academies are producing players, so that gap should close.

Its not. And its one of the only leagues I won't watch. Painfully slow and boring most matches.

Also, most European leagues outside of the Big 5 or 6 are 2-3 quality teams and 17-18 horseshite teams.

Liga MX is certainly better than MLS. I'd rate them ahead of Greece, Turkey, and Ukraine for sure.

Not "certainly" its not. Get out of here with that.

Scotland is below Cyprus and Belarus at the moment and 11 spots below the Greek league, fwiw (I realize this is skewed quite a bit, but still).

Are you kidding? Look at the rosters. Look at the results when we play them. You end up having three or four teams in the seminfinal slots in the CONCACAF Champions League from Mexico every damn year.
I get it's become a soccer board meme to make fun of Mexicans, but main supporting evidence you'll have if you argue MLS is better or close to Liga MX is something along the lines of "Mexicans suck and America rules because of FREEDOM (insert Brek Shea gun pic from Instagram).

UEFA coefficient isn't a good barometer in this, as Scotland is penalised in a number of ways. Basically, Celtic would have to make the last-16 of the UCL for five straight seasons for Scotland to jump a couple spots.
The SPFL is at least as good as the Greek league, 2 Bundesliga is better than the Championship, and Belgium is definitely better than the Greek league.

The only players I recognize are ones who have been capped by the US (and are generally not that good) and ones who have been capped by Mexico (that are generally not that good). So I really don't see your point there.
