You're mad because you believe I was trying to belittle the accomplishment. Which isn't so ... it was a crazy finish. And a title City earned for a season where they truly were the best team in England. The table doesn't lie.
But, objectively, and I will now ask YOU to take a step back. In what way, shape or form was I wrong for asking such a question? It was simply, HOW do we think the new rules will affect clubs LIKE City? Which does include them.

It worked for the most part, but they needed one more midfield player to give them some extra quality. They are the best team points wise to not win the title, though I'm not sure they are a better team than Chelsea and Arsenal in 2007, and 'Pool in 2008, who all lost the title with 80 plus points.

i actually was impressed for what man u did this year with their roster. i mean giggs/scholes were major players at the end. that speaks volumes for the gaps they had. also, they desperately need a distributing mid. i can't see them NOT getting modric

Modric would be valuable, but I really think they should have pulled the trigger on Steven Defour a couple of years ago. A player like Lucas Biglia would be an excellent buy. They look like they will get Kagawa, who will give them an option at AM, but isn't exactly what they need. Michael Carrick has played superbly this season, but they need one more player in my view.

nani comes close to looking like he's going to break out and never can get over the hump

Well Real is legit insane because they hate Barcelona. And Barcelona will do anything to keep up with Madrid. Real actually has a pretty good youth system (produced Mata) but they keep buying.
I mean, people complained when Real did it in 2002 or so. And people complained when Chelsea did it. And people complained when Man City did it. But if transfer fees can get more reasonable, those clubs still can pay the highest wages.

Fergie has a pretty solid rotation system. They all seem to be happy. They need another wide option, someone who can drive defenses and deliver a good final ball or score. Basically an Arshavin from 2009.

I think it is crazy that Madrid, Chelsea, and City take so much flack, while clubs like Barca and Man United get praised for doing it the "right way".
They all spend a metric frickton of money.
It is really insane the talent that Madrid are accumulating even beyond the starting 11. I feel like Madrid B team could get third in La Liga.

I think OL and Arsenal are both remarkably run clubs. I am not sure about Dortmund, but I think they built this thing from just nothing.
There are a few clubs that are incredibly efficient in managing their resources. Arsene is just one of the best guys in the business that helps Arsenal maintain their consistent Champions League participant level of success.
I also like how Arsene is really close to Arsenal. In addition, Mancini is like Man City.

I don't know where you could find numbers on cumulative money spent on transfers, but in terms of wages Arsenal was 4th in the EPL this year, behind Chelsea, Man City, and Man U. They're essentially tied Liverpool though

Am I the only one that's extremely wary of Financial Fair Play just being another way for the handful of clubs that dominate everything to make their stranglehold even tighter?
Right now, it seems there's only one way an outsider can really compete with the richest clubs: an absurdly wealthy owner like City's throwing in the billion or so it takes to bridge the gap until un-equally distributed CL / TV money comes their way?
Seems FFP just makes sure the CL buddies don't even have that to worry about in the future.

That's a highly probable outcome. In truth, it's unlikely that we'll ever get the sort of financial parity that the sport should have, other than complete economic collapse. The real truth of the matter is that the small fish in Europe do not really matter because they don't have the potential to generate income. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I think this is especially true with the advent of CL football in 1992. Before, the European Cup was much more open. You'd never think of a team like Sampdoria, Red Star Belgrade, Steaua Bucuresti, Malmo, and others actually making a final now. The big teams have measures to ensure self-selection, and I think moves like the G-14 and the ECA prove that the big clubs know they have lots of power.
