What do you think of the "get two yellows, miss next match" rule

Yellow card accumulation rule is the worst in all sports.

The rule only sucks when the officials are handing them out like candy. If they were all called like the Mexico match, no one would have a problem with it.

It is an awful rule. If Neymar gets one more yellow in his next four matches, then he gets suspended a match. Stupid.

Yellow card accumulation is fine, but the standards need to be altered.

What about restricting it to back to back games?

It would obviously be much better but considering how soft some yellows are, i.e. the one on De Guzman , it's still too harsh. I think 2 in one game is the only way a suspension should even be considered and even then I think it would be prudent to use discretion.

Retarded rule. Especially considering that yellow cards are a subjective thing. Some referees will give yellows for an offense that others wouldn't. If anything, they should reset after the group stage and then again at some point during the knockout rounds. What is the rule now? Is it after the quarters when they wipe the slate clean?

I would be ok with three, two is too harsh.

I would be ok with this.

Of course, if it bans Neymar, I'm fine with the current system.

I typed one more yellow in his next four. Weird.

I think I would want a card reset after group play and the quarters.

I don't think it's awful on principle, but it could probably do with some of the changes mentioned in the thread

Would like to see a trend of yellow cards/game in major tournaments over the years
