I think we would need someone who is more dedicated to defending.
It's part of the reason why you hardly ever see Schweinsteiger and Kroos play holding mid with one another. Both are great passers and decent defenders but neither will commit to staying back.
If you want Bradley and Kljestan together, they'd need either Danny Williams or Beckerman to be with them.

That would be one way to get Bradley and Sacha together in the center of the field. We won't be able to do that because we'd have no width, especially with Fabs not playing. It would have to look more like

You would have to have Deuce either on the right or in the middle of that. He is going to spend most of his time coming inside for the ball so you'll need Cherundolo to fill his spot. Bocanegra can't be counted on to do that. Now, if Lichaj was playing on the left, maybe.
There's no real speed on the field with these kinds of lineups and you lose a lot of your overlapping runs that we need from our outside backs to create more width.
If you lined up in more of a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1 with Bradley and Kljestan as your center mids, you'd get murdered on the counter.

Hendo I like the 4-3-3 lineup you put out. Williams has proven to be solid enough in the holding role. That would provide Bradley the chance to play his best position as a box to box mid. Kljestan can help with the creativity and push up a bit further than Bradley. I don't get why people are so scared to play Dempsey out wide. He will just tuck in and provide space for our fullbacks. He has only recently(last year maybe year and half) been deployed in the middle for club and country.

Agreed and we briefly touched on this in the match thread after the game. I really dont trust him in a starting role as this point and the last thing we need is to get down a man for this game. I like his motor and passion, but he needs to curtail the stupidity if he wants to play in meaningful games.

The problem is that he'd rather be on the left side so he can cut inside to put shots on goal. We cannot play him on the left because you would have either a huge void or you would have Boca pushing up very high and struggling to get back.
If you have him on the right, then you would be expecting him to play balls into the box, which he probably won't do. Dolo is very good going forward, so if he'd tuck in it wouldn't be a big deal but you hardly ever see right-footed wingers who love to drift inside play on the right side.
The trio of Bradley, Williams, and Sacha seems to be a good enough complement but I don't know if it's worth it to make the field so narrow.
One of the basic tenants of soccer is that you spread the field on offense and compact it on defense. If we're purposely making the field narrow, we're playing right into a team like Guatemala's hands. We're not Barcelona or Spain, we don't have the midfielders to draw them out of their shell with our passing.
We need to be able to get the ball out wide and look for early balls into the box from wide players and midfielders. It's either that or shoot from 30 yards out and hope one of them goes in.

I think having two attack-minded guys paired in the middle like that, in front of our current CBs, would easily create opportunities for the other team.

Bradley doesn't have to be an attack minded guy, neither does Klejstan.
Both have played purely as holding mids in their respective club careers.

Neither of them have to be but it's not in their nature to sit back and there will be several times when they are both pushed up, making us vulnerable on the counter.
A WCQ isn't the time to experiment with a lineup like that. You need to have a dedicated defender against a team that is only looking to hit on the counter.

Since when did we come to the assessment that our CB's suck? I thought they've done good enough.

I don't think anyone's said that they suck. They're adequate for CONCACAF play. There's a decent dropoff in talent between this WCQ and 2010's (healthy Gooch and Bocha, 4 years younger).

Parkhurst and Dolo both do a good job of getting up the field and providing width. Under Klinsmann I think one of our best games was against Slovenia. 3 goals in the first half. Admittedly we had Jozy and Johnson playing for us... and Edson "Pain Train" Buddle. But that game we played a 4-1-2-1-2 (diamond) with Dempsey in the hole and Bradley in the RM position. It worked then. Why not now? Yeah, we lose a little with Johnson out but Parkhurst aint no scrub.
