What happened to Freddy adu really is tragic. 30 professional games played at 14. He played 2500 games against grown men at the age of 16.
Hard to imagine a bigger disservice to him than the MLS.
Really do wonder what might have been if he had come up in Belgium or holland where all he had to be is a midfielder and not a savior.

Adu hat trick 2007 u-20 World Cup
Michael Bradley (with hair), Danny Szetela, Robbie Rogers, Dax McCarty, Freddy Adu, Jozy Altidore, Anthony Wallace, Sal Zizzo...
I remember watching this and thinking it was the start of a USA takeover. Look at baby Altidore out there.

What a great clip. I have no memory of Zizzo but he looks like a great prospect. Does he have any eligibility left?

Juan Agudelo After he scored on his debut for the USMNT had a lot of hype that went nowhere.
And then scored in his second USMNT cap with Messi on the pitch.

The greatest service to American soccer Sal Zizzo gave us was the Benny Feilhaber Show.
Unfortunately, Sporting KC has scrubbed all the episodes from Youtube.
