The fact Belgium might experiment with more CB pairings helps us, but at the same time I'm unsure if our current personal could take advantage. Germany had a real problem with pace, but we never took advantage of it due to our personal. I felt that the Germany game would have been an excellent game for Bacon to run beyond the CB's. Maybe this might be a game for Bacon to do something similar as well.

if TV5 plays LCB, we could certainly take advantage of him getting caught out too far forward. Jones and Johnson both have the beating of him pace-wise.

Man, TV5 is such a moron positionally. It was great when we had Gallas covering for him. On occasion, the super high line of TV and LK was great to watch, until it wasn't. But I think TV5 is still an injury concern, so it might be Lombaerts or Vertonghen.

anything to weaken their left side. vertoghen isn't great at LB and doesn't like playing it. TV5 over there or Lombaerts (or Alderweireld or Vanden Borre out of position) would be even better. there's a good chance a CB will be at LB, with Hazard staying high up the pitch on the left side. just like our previous matches, that should be where we attack.

They lost a defensive backup for the rest of the tournament against South Korea. They are having some health issues on defense for sure. TV isn't fully fit either.

if I'm reading up right... he played against South Korea b/c Belgium was pretty much through before the match started (made his Cup debut against the Koreans)
so I'm guessing he probably wouldn't have seen the pitch against the USA... red card or not
