U.S. up 1-0 on an own goal in the 2nd or 3rd minute ... 66th minute, Brazil gets a controversial PK and a U.S. player gets a red card, making it 11 v. 10 ... Brazil's first attempt on the PK is blocked but they get a second chance because either encroachment was called or Solo was called off the line (another controversial call), second chance at PK ties it at 1 ... U.S. holds on to send it to extra time ... early in extra time, Brazil takes a 2-1 lead on a great shot by Marta but an offsides call was missed on the play ... later in OT, a Brazil player fakes an injury in an attempt to waste time ... so instead of 1 minute added on to the end of the match, 3 minutes were added on ... in the 3rd minute of added time, Rampione sends a great cross into the box and Wambach heads it in to tie it a 2, great play on both ends ... PK shootout, U.S. up 3-2, then Solo makes a diving stop, U.S. goes on to win the PK shootout 5-3.

US got a red card in the first half when they were up 1-0.
Hope Solo saved the pending penalty kick, but the refs called movement (either on her or someone moving inside the box), so Brazil was given another kick...and converted.
Later, while US was down a player, Brazil went up 2-1 and with 1 minute remaining in stoppage time (ironically it was awarded because a Brazil count-bucket was faking an injury to waste time) the US tied the game 2-2.
In penalty kicks the US made all theirs while Solo saved one of Brazils and US wins in dramatic and unlikely fashoin.

I was watching in the gym so I couldn't hear the sound while I was watching. Not sure if you know, but was it all Americans, or were the neutral fans pulling for us due to the excessive time wasting?

The whole stadium less those in yellow was pulling for the US. They recognize a screw job when they see one.
