I'm also so concerned about his development and do think national team play should at least partially be based on club form

ditto. if he doesn’t get that figured out, he’s going to fade into obscurity through no fault of anyone but himself

On the macro, what's so concerning is just the lack of big developmental jumps from the core that burst onto the scene in 2021 Nations League finals.

Guys like Steffen, Reyna, Aaronson and Musah have regressed while a bunch of other guys like McKenzie, Sargent, Dest are basically the same quality player now that they were then.

I also don’t think it’s unreasonable barring severe insubordination to question why Reyna doesn’t play against a bunkering team on a pitch 10% smaller than usual. not defending his club relationship(shareholder of Dortmund) or anything else, but I can’t handle how almost intentionally impotent this 11 was in possession

Starting Musah, Adams, Tessmann, and McKennie against a team that’s bunkering on a narrow field is a head scratcher. Putting Weah on his weaker side (when his strength is getting to the end line and crossing) and putting Pulisic in the middle (where he won’t have space to run at opponents 1 v 1) is another head scratcher. We had no one to pick locks. If you don’t favor Reyna because he never plays for club that’s fine but you have to put Luna in there. McGlynn is ok but it’s concerning he was first choice sub when he wasn’t even part of the original roster. If anything he should have started over Tessmann for his through balls and set piece ability.

It wasn’t good enough from the players but this was incredibly poorly set up by Poch. If GGG had set up a team like this he would be rightly eviscerated by the fans. Does Poch not understand our opponents? The strengths of players in our starting 11? Both are concerning.

And Jedi. Hopefully we'll get some insight on what exactly his injury is, or if Fulham were just being dicks.

He said tendinopathy. I would bet on patellar tendonitis.

The team regressed because they hired a Euro Manager like Klinseman and fired a guy who win more than any manager we ever had, just because he and Reyna's parents had a falling out, we played well in South America, but lost because Musa (I think) committed an ignorant foul vs. Uraguay. We are now a boring team to watch, we were fluid before.

This is what many wanted, lol
