injured.
I hate Jurgen sometimes. Orozco, Parkhurst, and Spector but no Goddamned Eric Lichaj.

I'd like to see Goodson and Cameron paired together. It'll be interesting to see what we do in the midfield. Our roster looks substantially weaker without Donovan and Bradley.
Will Jurgen give Cameron a look at CM, he's played well there for Stoke. Any Dynamo fans know which position he prefers?

Not impressed
Klinsmann basically called up a healthy first team and some other experimental players. He does this often, and it always seems confusing.

He puts A LOT of emphasis on getting consistent playing time with the club team. Give it some time. I'm sure he'll come around to Lichaj.

Honestly I'm tired of seeing all of the mexicans with the exceptions of Corona and Gomez.

From an SBI quote so take it or leave it.
I think Beasley gets the call now that Gatt is out. Maybe Pontius.

Castillo put in a serviceable shift against Mexico. He won't play first team minutes as long as Cherundolo is still cherunning and doloing.

We'll probably go with something like this...
Klinsmann's preferred 4-2-3-1
Howard
Johnson-Cameron-Bocanegra-Cherundolo
-----Jones-----Beckerman--------
Dempsey--Torres--(Shea/Zusi?/Williams?)
-------------Altidore------------
I'd like to see a two striker formation, but Jozy and Boyd are too similar of players. Klinsmann also doesn't really like using a traditional 4-4-2
The right wing is still a big question, especially considering the roster.

I'm not sure about Dempsey starting. No way he's match-fit, right?

Cherundolo-Cameron-Bocanegra-Johnson
------------Jones--------Beckerman------------
Williams---------Torres---------Gomez
--------------------Altidore-----------------
Call me crazy, but I think this is a very possible lineup.
First of all, Klinsman seems to like Williams on the wing for some reason. Not sure if he only does this in the 4-4-2 or if he would do it in a 4-2-3-1 as well.
Next, Gomez looks to start on the wing again. It wouldn't surprise me at some point to see Altidore moved to the wing (where he plays in the 4-3-3 with AZ from time to time) and have the Body up top.
The only other question on this roster, in my opinion, is what Cameron does. Does he start at CB next to Boca? After his showing in Mexico I'd say yes, but he can always play a little bit in the midfield, too.
Playing with the Fulham youth teams doesn't keep Deuce in shape, so he might be a second half sub. Same for Shea, who it was tempting to start but hasn't had the greatest club campaign and seems to do better as a 65-70th minute sub anyway.

It's not like he just returned from injury. He just hasn't played because of the transfer situation.

I guess we'll see.

“When he arrives we will evaluate him, sit down with him and discuss his state of mind, and obviously we will evaluate his fitness level, too,” Klinsmann said Sunday on a national media teleconference. The U.S. coach made it clear that all options are open.
“It really depends on where he’s at,” Klinsmann said. “We will see right away in the first couple of training session where he is at. So, depending on the data and what we see in those first two or three sessions, we are open to throwing him in right away.”

I'd definitely rather not see any combination of Williams and Torres in the attack.
We're going to miss Bradley and Donovan badly IMO.

All of these. Torres' lack of athleticism could cost us the match against an incredibly athletic Jamaica.

Not the roster I would prefer, but what I think Jurgen would do. I would prefer Dempsey in Torres' role, but Dempsey is not match fit.

Minus the obvious choices of Bradley/donovan I really like this team. No Lichaj sucks but meh. Also Mix would be nice.
