Caden Clark just got an appendectomy. Not good timing for his Gold Cup availability.

idk why he feels he needs all of preseason with them.

Luca de la Torre:

"In September Gregg gonna want players who're in-form, doing well & playing every week. If I go to Gold Cup I miss all of pre-season, so I won't play the 1st few games of the season, & if I'm not playing the 1st games I have no chance of being called up to WCQ" LINK

"If I went to the Gold Cup, there's always the possibility I wouldn't have gotten many any minutes which would've set me back even further at the start. And after watching the Nations League, I think I'm good enough to be called up based on my club performances." LINK

"Gregg does already kind of know what I can do, he saw me in March, it’s not a situation where the Gold Cup is the last opportunity for me to be seen by the coach before the World Cup qualifiers. It’s the best decision for me, I think.” LINK

"It was a really tough decision, playing for the national team is a huge part of who I am & I wanted to go to the Gold Cup. But this gives me the best chance of being involved in the group for the World Cup qualifiers to start really strong for next season.” LINK

GK:
Tim Melia
Sean Johnson
Matt Turner

LB:
George Bello
Sam Vines

CB:
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Miles Robinson
James Sands
Walker Zimmerman

RB:
Julian Araujo
Reggie Cannon

CDM:
Leon Flach
Kellyn Acosta

CM:
Gianluca Busio
Julian Green
Sebastian Lletget
Eryk Williamson

Wing:
Paul Arriola
Jonathan Lewis

ST:
Daryl Dike
Nicholas Gioacchini
Matthew Hoppe
Gyasi Zardes

My thoughts:
Our winger situation for this tournament is garbage, so I picked Hoppe and Gioacchini as they can also play those roles and I want to get them reps. Sands excites me more than EPB, who may need the preseason with a new team. CCV may be in the same boat, tbh, but I really want to see what he can do with this group. I almost took Altidore over Zardes, since he’s been frozen out of TFC and won’t really be missing games for them, but I don’t know that you can rely on him to be healthy all tournament.

I think Ebobisse gets in there so he can play on the wings as well. Same possibly for Pepi

We could always Jurgen it and put Gyasi back on the wings.

Ebobisse is a good shout. I’m caught between two minds: giving playing time to as many young players as possible and bringing a side capable of winning. Mexico is bringing damn near their full strength team.

Plus Efra.

Same with Canada it appears.

I'm totally down to go full on experimental and give unproven guys a chance to see if they are ready to help in WCQ and push the solidified guys.

Hearing that CCV won't be accepting a call up due to wanting to settle in with wherever he winds up at.

Where are you seeing this? I saw a recent statement by Tata where he says he is 100% their’s, but that’s it.
