Also, regarding Wood, he has played wide left as part of a three man forward (not really a winger), but he is best playing closer and more in front of goal as a real striker in a two man front. He may be capable of playing as a lone striker although I have not really seen him in that role. With Altidore gone, I wonder if he could play that role as part of a 4-2-3-1.

Best for LA, one of the most dominant teams in the MLS, doesn't necessarily mean best for the national team. Also doesn't he like lead the league in assists or something?

Kljestan leads the league in chances created and assists. In fact, he almost has more assists than Dos Santos and Giovinco combined. Oh well.

With all the talent LA has, any time Zardes gets rid of the ball he has a decent chance of getting an assist.

LA have been playing some beautiful soccer recently with all that talent they have at their disposal. What Kljestan does at NYRB with his supporting cast is very impressive as he does not have nearly the talent on hand like LA. Even when he does not have the ball and is unlocking defenses he is creating chances with his movement away from the ball.

With the roster Klinsmann has selected, I think Johnson has to be played at LB.

He's played himself into a corner here.

Let us look positively, we are trying to fit all of our outstanding Bundesliga players on one pitch.

Then why did we leave one at home?

I'm a fan of Morales and feel he is often overlooked by everyone. He had a rough patch mid season but rebounded into form. I would have liked to see him in this roster but I know how Klinsmann loves Beckerman.

Guzan is better than Howard now. Not sure how people can still disagree at this point.

I don't see much of a difference. I think both took a big step back this year.

Well if you think they are even, then still go with the younger GK who may just be going through a funk rather than the old gent who, in two more years, will be that much older for the WC.

Just my two cents

Give the really young kid some big time international experience. Let Guzan work himself out with his club.

Morales wasn't very consistent for a bad team. I do wish he could have made it, but I'm happy that Kitchen made it as well.

Jurgy explains why Wondo was chosen instead of Morris: it's all about form.

We decided in this moment right now to go with Wondo. He's in top form. He's scoring a lot of goals for the Earthquakes

So that explains everything, including why Orozco, Chandler, and Zusi were chosen over Lichaj, Ream, Kljestan. It's all about the form.

Klejstan and Lichaj are the two players that will get us over the top and win the Copa.

Sadly, it's more about who brought their knee pads to camp and hasn't ever uttered a disloyal comment.

Klinsi is more about buying in to his program (and confirming his Bundesliga bias) than the best XI.
