Don Garber is on the board of US soccer he won't allow USL to gain league one status.

Honest question:

Why does a title of a league matter.
Who cares if it never gets “league one”
Status?

USL will be #1 league in my view. And I’d imagine in the view of every fan in the town that have USL teams. And everyone that doesn’t have Apple MLS pass

So

MLS can pull all their teams out of us open cup.

Let them keep making dumb business decisions that are not in the interest of the actual fan

I think a lot of soccer folks don’t watch MLS for the lone reason that is doesn’t have pro/rel.

Gimme a break. No American fan is watching USL because of pro/rel. No foreign fans are going to watch USL because of pro/rel. The money league is MLS. It costs 500 million to join the league now. USL will get bought up by MLS way before they ever become even remotely close to being a competitor. I can't believe of all the hot takes on this board over the years, a bunch of people in this thread are going to become USL followers. I'll believe it when I see it. Start the year-long posts! Let's see how long USL keeps your attention.

Pro-Rel isnt why I watch soccer, but it certainly adds to the sport.

Which doesn’t mean shite, ratings suck, quality of play is average and it’s still bringing in old euros.

Aside from Miami this has not been the trend for several years now, and the average age of the league is actually younger than many others in our hemisphere.

As this thread shows there are people here who would rather denigrate the league than watch it or even just discuss its actual content on a message board. I would be interested to see how many pages an MLS thread gets vs a USL thread.

No it isn’t

The standard of defense in MLS is terrible, same with midfield play.

The standard has definitely improved from an attacking player standpoint and they look even better vs sub standard defending.

It makes for some fun football to watch but it doesn’t mean the quality is improving. The tactics from most teams is the same, the classic American style of let’s out athlete each other and just play at 100mph.

While yes the league has been bringing in young players from South America and that brings down the age.

Don’t lie about the league that is still bringing in older European players. Zaha is now at CLT. Cincy is trying to bring in Müller, KDB is most likely on his way. Rues is at the Galaxy. DC has Benteke, LAFC has Giroud and Lloris, the list goes on…..

Dawg, you can't say this out of the other side of your mouth after making the sweeping generalization that the defense hasn't improved at all out of one side.

You're a hater, that's fine, but at least be intellectually honest.
