Don't know why people were blaming Spector on that goal. He went forward and no one slid over to help cover. That is first on Clark for not picking up the man with the ball, then on Demerit/Goodson for not sliding over to cover that Turkish attacking player.

that's such a fundamental mistake, but it can be easily corrected.

he's not fricking messi...he should have never kept that ball as long as he did

spector giving up possession that early in the possession allowed the easy counter

Of course its not all Spector's fault, he made a dangerous run and its not like Turkey hit us immediately on the counter, there was more than enough time for the defense to rotate, someone to fall back, its just bad organization.

We look just awful. Horrible defensive organization from the first minute.

Plenty of blame to go around on that goal. This is some of the worst defending I've ever seen at this level.

When Goodson came up to win the ball, he should either won the ball, or fouled to prevent the counter. There needs to be some better communication on the field.

3 things that are incredibly frustrating me thus far.

The first and most glaring issue is the chemistry on the back line. They have none, there is literally no organization at all. That is an issue collectively and individually. As a unit they need to do better, but there have also been plenty of times where as an individual they have looked quite poor at simple defense.

2nd issue I have is Clark. As many know I have never been a fan of his. But, he is playing much too high, often times he is even ahead of Bradley. Clark is out there to play the role as our defensive midfielder. He neither has the skill set to play as high up as he is, nor the purpose to play so high up the pitch.

3rd and final issue is dealing with Dempsey and Jozy. I understand that striker partnerships are a fickle thing. They both need plenty of time to gain an understanding/feel for one another, and obviously these two do not have that. Most of all I am disliking having Dempsey as a lone striker, he is playing much much too high. Dempsey is very strong making runs from the midfield. Dempsey is much better than Jozy coming from the midfield, where as Jozy does not have that skill so he should not be playing an attacking midfield role as he has much this half so far.

We need Dempsey to drop into midfield more to negate any numerical advantage.
