Because this board is civilized and is courteous. We haven't had scores in the title in years, so it's fairly easy to see why you would check the board without watching the match.

Yea. I guess this board sees it differently, but
you can't spoil a live sporting event. Either you watch it or you don't.
This isn't the season finale of your favorite show... and This isn't on tape delay like the Olympics often are.

Right. But the vast majority of American sporting events take place on nights and weekends, when everyone is available to watch the games.
The most important soccer games take place during the day and often during the work week when everyone is at work and school, so they have to watch recorded matches.
I'm sure Chicken would appreciate us all vanishing from here during the day for most of the year.
