Looks like Bornstein's fluke play from the WC has now passed and he is back to the awful player he has always been

Gonzales is huge and great in the air. Grant Wahl rates him as the CB of the future. I'm not sold b/c he's got average footspeed at best and isn't the best on the ball.

Bedoya is somewhat of an enigma in the side. Bradley seems to like him, and he did well against the Dutch in March.

Like I said earlier. Bedoya is playing balls to the wall tonight. I love it. He is challenging everything and trying to score in the box as well.

Howard's distribution is hurting us right now, we keep giving it right back to them.

There are more knowledgeable posters on here though who are well informed as to our young players.

LOL, I'm fairly well informed about our roster. Bradley and Edu are our center mid partnership of the future and they're young so they're not going to be replaced. I like Tony Tchani but right now Edu and Bradley are clearly better.

We have no one to replace Bornstein expect maybe Castillo.

We have a lot of young centerbacks but a guy like Agboussomonde is just too young at this point. Ream and Ike Opara are not better than Omar Gonzalez at this point. Gooch is still a prime candidate for 2014 at this point.

Do we have better midfield prospects than Bedoya, Feilhaber, and Holden at this point? Andy Najar is 17 and were not even sure if he's gonna play for us.

At this point guys like Mwanga, Ike Opara, Tchani and maybe Sean Franklin (if Spector doesn't get it together) are serious possibilities for 2014 but for the most part these are our best guys.

Stewie, does the US have any youths with pace, some players who aren't afraid to take on defenders? Either out on the wing or up front?

It seems like the US hasn't had anyone on the roster for a good while who will push the pace and go past defenders. I don't really count Davies, because his dribbling by defenders is more of kick and run using his pace.
