Totally unbiased assessment

IMO apart from jela, sasa, boogie, weir, and mcgregor our entire squad during those years couldnt piece together more than 2 or 3 consistant performances in a row. we are better off without those guys taking stupid wages for playing mediocre football.

I never took to Edu when he was here, never thought he was good enough. Scored one goal against them and he kind off lived of that for the rest of his time here.

And i'm Glad Broadfoot And Edu are away

We are alot better team without Edu. (tu)

Hopefully the end of an era of wasting millions on average players.

Good observation, but Weir and Papac have retired and of the rest only Jela, Naismith and McGregor are genuine losses to me. Davis was far too inconsistent and the others not good enough.

Big mo in the EPL woooffffft stoke for relagation is the bet of the day lol

We have been vocal about Edu and Broadfoot and latterly Goian and Bocanegra..

quote:

Totally agree. I REALLY appreciate that he transferred over and got us a bit of money, but for me he was a clumsy player, too easily brushed off the ball and far too often guilty of giving the ball away when we were in posession.

Edu and Charlie Adam in the same midfield?

It's just as well Stoke bypass that area

quote:

He was a frickin donkey.

Edu was really really pish but at least he stayed so we could get transfer fee for him unlike the other pricks

For starters, that's totally out of the context of the USMNT, but next time, I'll make sure to pass all of my criticisms of the US national team through a Rangers fan forum.

Secondly, are you seriously trying to tell me that we have enough options at central midfielder to render a premier league central midfielder irrelevant, especially without an injured Michael Bradley and an elusively healthy Stuart Holden?

There have been some decent suggestions post-game. I'm starting to seriously come around to thenry's Sacha Klejstan campaign. However, Maurice Edu has certain abilities that we cannot ignore yet. He is good enough to feature in a 23 man USMNT squad, especially right now.

So my opinion doesn't count because I'm biased against Rangers players, and their opinion doesn't count because Rangers isn't the USMNT?

Edu is at his best breaking up plays, with limited (if any) offensive responsibility.

Beckerman is at his best breaking up plays, with limited (if any) offensive responsibility.

Jones is at his best breaking up plays, with limited (if any) offensive responsibility.

See if you can identify the issue with starting all three of these players in the midfielder.

Your opinion doesn't count because it is a ridiculous opinion to hold for our player pool.

Their opinion doesn't count because they are reacting as if they are a stilted lover to a player that is moving to a league that is far better than the one that they were in before they were punished.

I get it.

Additionally, for our level, Jermaine Jones is sufficiently skilled to be a two-way player.

They made those same kind of comments before they went into Admin.

As Sheep just posted, we have 3 players who play the exact same position and are good at the exact same things. Jones and Beckerdreads are better than Edu. That makes him surplus to requirements in a 23 man roster.

The defeat was the Americans' first to Jamaica in 19 games and put them three points behind the Reggae Boyz in Group A.

And someone still paid money for him. Amazing, call up Tony Pulis.

I think that Beckerman is useful, but I don't necessarily buy that he is better in that position. Additionally, Edu is versatile. That's a valuable quality to have as a squad player. In an ideal world, Edu gets left out. Right now, I think that it's unfair to suggest that he should not be called in.

Gary Caldwell is Wigan's captain. He's still terrible.

Correct. He's equally shitty in a number of positions.

Relativism. Name your 23 man squad for tonight without Edu.

I'm only advocating that we hold off lynching Klinsmann until the 11th. I'm not wholly supporting this performance.

We need an offensive minded midfielder who can play in the center of the park. That's Sacha, Mix, and Corona.

Johnson played his worst game in a US jersey. Our subs were ineffective.

Our midfield was an abortion. I want to find stats from this game so I can see how many passes our midfielders completed and how many balls were lost (especially by Edu).

Also, Jozy did jack shite but it's not like he had good service.

Parkhurst was better than expected.

Remove Gatt, Edu, Parkhurst, Orozco-Fiscal

Add Sacha, Lichaj, Demerit, Pontius

That's a start.

I can't get over how bad Klinsmann managed that game. Just a horrible tactical setup against an incredibly mundane team. Attacking options in Zusi, Corona, and Torres all sat on the bench while Danny Williams was sent into the game to do nothing of note.

Mo Edu has never played as a wide midfielder as a professional.

Jermaine Jones is not a smart player.

FYI per the espn article on the game cherundelo was supposed to start but had a calf issue.

If true I can see what jurgen was trying to do - clog middle and have the outside backs provide the width.

But I still think the midfield starters were a stupid decision.

Yeah, but Johnson didn't provide width like he normally does. I'm really not sure WTF he was doing. He played awful.

Jumping in late on this as I watched the game Friday night and havent been on here since Thursday but JJ drives me nuts. I enjoy his motor and his intensity but the last couple of games he has been shite when on the ball. And again he got a yellow. One of these games it will be a red.

He's Ricardo Clark, with better foot skill.

And arguably, a shittier temperament.

Yep.

And I'm not reading this whole thread but who do we have available on the call up squad in the midfield that can actually hold possession tomorrow night? We miss Bradley terribly but there has to be someone else out there that can do this right?
