We can always have someone get hurt and let Charlie get called in.

Has the world passed by Freddy Adu? Did he have never realized potential?

He's 20.

That's like saying Derrick Rose is a never-was because he got left off the Olympic Team in '08.

I bet Freddy is a part of the first roster after the cup.

You could see Casey, EJ, and maybe one more like Gomez get cut bc of Dempsey's versatility.

That's what I'm hoping for. Someone please break Casey's leg.

Like every other US coach, as we get closer to the Cup, they get scared. Not a good sign. Not take a risk with Davies and taking people like Ching (why won't he just go away) and Beasley shows that, like Arenas, he will rely on veterans even to a point of possible failure.

It's absolutely absurd to leave Davies off. The one tournament we did well in, it was in large part due to Davies and b/c of Dempsey scoring goals.
Instead he takes three guys everyone knows are NOT GOOD ENOUGH and two guys who have been scoring goals in America. He's probably going to bring Jozy, Ching, Casey, Johnson, and Buddle. What a travesty. We'll be laughed out of there if it's mostly Jozy plus one of them getting the minutes.

Don't you get it? We play safe ball, good defense, and we'll win.

Let's go back to Sampson's ingenious 6-3-1 formation while we're at it.

I don't really get the outrage over our fwd position. It's not like Charlie would've been fit and in form for the Cup anyways. Hard too get too upset knowing what our backup options were.

I'm glad he's giving Buddle and Gomez a chance to prove themselves in camp. Which is to say, Bradley is taking a chance perhaps.

Well, Buddle obviously has goals in him, but Findley and Casey are horrible.

I think Findley, Johnson, Casey, Bedoya, Kljestan, Rogers, either Goodson or Marshall get the axe

Probably Marshall, because Goodson has played exceptionally well for us in the past with the JV teams.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying too. I still think half of Davies is better than Findley and Casey. I still think we'll see Dempsey starting uptop.

Maybe Davies will not be as fit as we were lead to believe.

How many forwards do we need to bring?

That's what everyone and his mother was telling him to do, though, so it's not really taking a chance. He would have drawn criticism for leaving one of them off. This way just lets him say that Charlie was hurt. It's the safest choice.

I guess not. I'm rooting for Bedoya to make it because he was dangerous when he got in to games with us, but I don't think it will happen because Beasley will probably make it.

So we get Herculez Gomez, Eddie Johnson, and Connor "I'm slow as frick" Casey and no Charlie Davies.

The guy hasn't played a game in 7 months.

And he almost died in a car wreck, and had to be reassembled, essentially. THEY CUT HIS SCALP AND PEELED HIS FACE OFF. It's not turf toe or a broken wrist.

I love Davies, but if he isn't ready, he isn't ready.

I'm not getting the outrage. It's a 30 man roster all these guys aren't going. It's hard to know about Davies. It seems like he could at least could have been a sub, but who knows. Not sure what people were expecting. When the 23 happens is the time to get pissed.

That would be debatable by June 1st. You put our best forward prospect on the 30-man roster and see if he can hack it by cut time. Better to have a chance at bringing Davies, then bringing someone like Casey who has no business of being there and shouldn't go anyway. I won't break anything today, but if Casey goes to SA....

Maybe, and I have nothing wrong with Buddle or Gomez.

Bob can fix the problem by playing Dempsey up top, we are stronger at mid than we are up top. If he does this, cool.

Ives list has Casey, While BraveTiger's has Findley. Which one is actually on the team? (May save some bitching)

I'm assuming BraveTiger's is off ESPN, because I know he has nothing else to do all day.

We could start with Donovan Edu Bradley Holden in the midfield and Dempsey and Altidore uptop and be fine.
