Glad to see that everyone is from a pro academy We've almost eliminated college players from the U20 and U23 squads as well.

Possible lack of minutes with the squad. Possibly beaten out by other players. Possibly not released by Ajax. With several injuries, the international break, etc., he's gone from playing for the U19s, to Jong Ajax, to a 1st team friendly in the span of a month. Ajax may be the best place for him right now.

How do you know all of these 16 and 17 year old kids? I don't always agree with your posts, but the depth of your knowledge about the team is impressive.

I stole the list from twitter, but a lot of them play in USL or get some MLS minutes, so it's fairly easy to check them out with ESPN+. Several accounts post highlights, stats, etc. Just pay attention to who regularly gets called into camps.
You can just look at the U17 CONCACAF championships to see that we made 6 changes from that roster to this one.

Brian Sciaretta is a great follow. Few people keep up with our young players like he does.

I saw Alvarez in the Mexico roster. I Hope he gets his knee blown out tbh. I don’t even give AF.
Also, what’s the latest on your boy Bello. You used to rave about him. Has he done anything for Atlanta?

Yeah that’s a bit harsh. But nothing makes me hate Mexico quite like Americans playing for Mexico.

He started their first CCL match this season and got injured (groin injury). Missed most of the season. Wasn't able to play again until August. Has been playing with the 2nd team to regain fitness, form, and to prepare for the U17 WC. Scored a penalty last night and looked pretty good. Beat out Tolkin (who I also like) to make this roster.

Would he even start for us?

I wonder what route most of these U17 players took to get there. Show up to pro team development camps, ODP or PDP competition, get ‘discovered’ at regional or national level tournaments...?

U.S. U-17 head coach Rafael Wicky's assistants at the U-17 World Cup will be Ante Jazic, Barry Pauwels, Matt Pilkington and goalkeeper coach Mike McGinty.

Today’s announced U17 roster has more pro experience than any US U17 team before it – by far. 5 times as many minutes as the 2017 team had.
