Why would that disappoint me? I'm totally ok with that. He's our best wing option on that side after Donovan (and maybe Bedoya. I would say Bedoya has the edge on current form).
You always seemed to prefer Bedoya in Zusi's place

Oops. My b, bro. I still don't think Sacha starts in the back 2, but you might end up being right. I still think Jurgen favors JJ and Beckerman there.
As for Bedoya/Zusi, I'll take Bedoya right now. Zusi has been good for us in the past but his recent performances have not been impressive.

Has he even played a full second for stoke city this season?

I don't think Brek Shea has even been in the 18 for Stoke this year.

If he's fit and not getting minutes then he needs to be loaned. The biggest detriment to his game is that he hasn't been able to get consistent pt in the last two years. Loved him at fcd and I refuse to give up on him yet.

Loaned or come back to MLS. Also, put Guzan as striker for the hell of it.

I wished ESPN FC would come the frick on. Nothing on tv and I don't want to start a new game of FIFA yet.

could see Zusi on the right instead of Bedoya.

Why wasn't Torres called in?

Can y'all tell me why you think that Sacha starts over Beckerman in the DM position?
Posted on 10/7/13 at 9:34 am to cwil177
Becks is definitely going to start, the question is if Jones is healthy enough to start.

It's not strictly a DM position, it's a two way midfielder. Only one of them is supposed to have the defensive responsibilty at a time.
You could make an argument for Kljestan (more well rounded) over Beckerman, but I don't believe Klinsmann sees it that way.
Kljestan is a better fit for where everyone wants to stick Diskerud (middle of the "3" midfielders. That's where he plays (and does it pretty well) with Anderlecht. He just hasn't had much opportunity there with the US. He's always getting shoehorned into some other role.

My problem with Beckerman and Kljestan is that they both are really slow. This limits their ability to go box to box. Diskerud is a better athlete than both, and I see him having as higher upside. Not that he should start over either now though.

I'm not convinced of this... though I don't disagree that Beckerman and Kljestan are about 1/2 step slow for the international game.
Diskerud is a much more fluid soccer player than either, though.
