Edu was probably moved to CB in the second half as a way of seeing how he performed, as the last time he played CB was in the Olympics. I doubt he will be anything other than an emergency option.

I think there will be some over reaction to this game, but like a few others have said the real important game is against the socceroos. I'm reserving a serious opinion til June 5th

Did you watch the game? We actually played through the midfield, and never really resorted to the long ball. Bob probably isn't the man, but if the team with all its starters plays like this, this game is an easy win.

What made this even worse was having the guy who was supposed to be in charge commentating on the sideline in Klinsman,
@crazy
Edu has never been good at CB, he's played it for the US before. I don't follow his MLS club, so I don't know if he's any good at CB for them...

No doubt. Our six best players were eating chicken wings in the box. The result doesn't mean shite.

But Bob's everlasting faux pas is that he always inserts a lineup that has one maybe two players missing that are vital, or one or two players clearly out of position.

He plays for Rangers and he doesn't play CB at all. Like I said, he's an emergency option. Nothing wrong with trying it out.

Sounds like a great band name.
Bob has actually grown a lot as a manager. Once we stopped relying on the long ball, we have looked infinitely better. Part of his problem with squad selections is a lack of depth at certain positions, for which he has had to compensate.

Plays for Der Hun in Scotland. Only guy in the whole organization I can stand. Plays well in big games.

So who should be cut?
Sasha
Rogers
EJ
Findley
?
?
?
I would say Bornstein but I just don't think it will happen. At best one out of Bornstein and Pearce will be cut cause their our only two "true" left backs unless you count Boca (and I'd prefer Boca plays there but with Gooch looking iffy he might not be able to.)

what TN is trying to say is he'd switch teams over him

yeah I remember now he plays for them
the only glaring lack of depth we have had since even before 06 WC has been CM. We have had the options at every position. CM we didn't even have a 2nd starter.
This last campaign we even had a striker duo, but yet we have still not developed CM's.

Clarence Goodson looks good, so it might allow Boca to play at LB.

gimme a list of the current 30 and I tell ya.

Baby Bradley is our best option at CM, but we don't have another center mid to pair next to him. We only seem to have either true DM's or AM's.

I don't mind our CM's actually. I like Rico, Edu and MB. I mean their not great by any means but their not bad. Then throw in Torres, Feilhaber, and even Holden and its not one of the spots I'm worried about.
LB is still the issue. I hate 3-5-2 but there are times when it almost seems like the best idea. I don't really like 4-5-1 but with that it makes it easier to transition after we get a red card.

I personally thought the Torres-Edu combo was pretty solid in the middle.

They complemented each other fairly well.
