same stale league performance

Haha, are you writing the season off already?

Palace has not lost in ten, and has faired really well by and large against some of the bigger clubs.

Since April 23rd:

Pool 2-2 (shield)
At Pool 1-1
Manc 1-0 win
At Spurs 2-0 win
Villa 3-0
At Arsenal 2-2

Contenders find a way to win these games

The first two I listed were Liverpool, one of them a draw at Anfield.

In short, they are a pretty solid squad that is organized, strong in the midfield / back line, has a good keeper, and has attackers that are dangerous.

We had 70% possession, 19 shots, and completed 510 passes. The issue is that their low block only allowed for 3 of those 19 shots to be on goal. For comparison, they had 4 on goal with their 11 shots (again, that was with only 30% possession).

It’s the same recipe that makes Forrest dangerous.

It works at a decent clip.

Today is an example of that.

Congrats Palace, but despite the draw, I’m still bullish on the Blues.

CP on opening day is tough because they are the team that is perfectly happy playing for one point with a low block and heading to the house

We drew with them both times last year. Such is life.

I know people love excuses. So here you go.

-Chelsea played more games than CP last season.

- Chelsea had a shorter off season.

-CP had a non friendly game this year to warm up.

Everyone calm down. We’re about to add Simons and Garancho who will elevate the Blues to greatness!

Fun fact:

Sonic is chosen as a place of fisticuffs due to its ice.

Sonic ice (sometimes called nugget ice or pellet ice in the mid west where they’re a bunch of loons) is characterized by its small, soft, and chewable texture.

Ideal for putting on a black eye or busted lip.

You make another post excusing that lifeless performance against a team with a tenth of our monies you're going to need a lot of ice

As good as we’ve looked, we’re lazy as hell with this lead. And we need to practice our 3v2 breakouts- we should have at least two more goals. Willian need to be better finishing.

CFC scored three goals from corners all of last season. They matched that today. I’ll take it.

They played the same team back to back? Who knew?

FWIW, we were more dominant last week. Palace just plays their system really well (almost flawlessly).

The Hammers tried to play the Blues straight up. It gave them a decent swath of possession, and an equal # of chances.

They rolled the dice…and lost.
