I don't really think Parks is any better than who we brought. Sands would be nice, but he hasn't played a game since he broke his foot.

Busio would have been a decent addition.

doesn’t the Olympic competition take away from the women’s World Cup?

Since we’re all about equality now

We didn't need anymore 6's.

Caden Clark should've been there.

He could have easily played one of the 8s. Often bounces between 6, 8, and 10 for SKC.

He offers more with the ball than Johnny and Perea.

I like Busio as a six but he’s competent in the other central midfield positions and would have been helpful in holding possession and moving the ball up field.

One thing that has me not-too-concerned about this qualifying failure is that the World Cup is in a year and I'm not sure any of these U-23's will make the 23 or even be in real contention for a spot.

Compare that to the 2012 U-23 roster, where you had guys eventually make a World Cup (Diskerud), guys with high expectations at that time (Shea, Corona, Agudelo), or guys that had already had a significant part of the full national team (Adu).

Same thing with the 2015 U-23 roster (Morris, Steffen, Miazga, CCV, Hyndman, Trapp, Zelalem). It looks like the only U-23's we had at the time that were "too good" for that squad were Yedlin, Brooks and Green.

Compare that to this current squad where the only players who have even sniffed the full national team outside of random friendlies was Yueill. On top of that, we could literally make two starting XI's of U-23's that weren't released by their clubs in Europe.

Still it sucks, because some of those better U-23's would've been going to Tokyo and it would've been fun to see how they could go.

There are a lot of competitions this year for the best players. I don't get too excited about the Olympics.

I do hate to see the US lose, especially with a very poor back pass and a goalkeeper flub. We should have won even with this U23 B team. I do agree that there are only a handful of players on this team that would ever have a chance to make a full USMNT World Cup squad.

More so than missing the olympics at this point I’m bummed that FIFA cancelled the U17 and U20 world cups.

Yeah. I just want us to start having those camps again.
