Lletget was fine in the run of play, but nothing too great or poor. But I’ll say his set pieces were outstanding. Placement was good every time, no wasted corners or free kicks, even if we didn’t score on them.

I think there’s a fair chance we’ll see more two up top, now that Arriola is hurt and Lewis was so bad that GB wouldn’t in his right mind start him again (right???). Would love to see Hoppe next to Dike.

Berhalter is more "trust the system" than pragmatic, so I doubt we see something that is purely a 2-striker formation since we haven't seen us deploy that in two years, but even when we use what, on paper, is a 4-3-3, we have usually pressed in a 4-4-2 shape.
And yesterday, when we subbed off I think Moore and Gioachinni, we went from a 4-3-3 to a 5-3-2 with Acosta and Vines as the wing backs with Zardes and Dike as the two up top.

Right, the end of the match gave me some hope that we’ll see more top 2. Agree that’s not GB’s preference, but his options are now very limited (his own doing of course). I’d be fine with seeing Hoppe and Zardes up top if Dike’s mins need to be limited.

That is fair. Lletget to Zimmerman looks like a dangerous combination on set pieces.
Lewis was garbage. I would think that him and Vines would be able to work off each other better since they are club teammates.

It’s pretty baffling, but Lewis isn’t getting regular minutes, so.. I can’t fault Vines too much in what I saw. Seemed like Lewis was getting into some pretty good positions just to botch the play or do nothing with it.

Considering we have no wing options and more forwards than needed for a 1 forward system we need to just play Bello and Moore in a back 5 and run with two forwards.
