Then you do not understand the sport and clearly never coached or are not a good one.
Oh boy, after reading this I got excited for the rest.

Teams with better control, playing a counter attack strategy against a weaker team is common and they played it perfectly outside of the first 10 minutes.
Lmao no. A better team almost always possesses the ball. Literally watch any single game week of the Premiere League. You're telling me that Man City or Liverpool commonly cede possession to bottom table teams?

They let the US waste energy
Again, no. The defending team's energy is wasted by the team with possession quickly changing the point of attack and moving laterally. The possessing team has the ball do the work for them, which saves energy. The defending team has to constantly shift laterally while maintaining defensive shape. It's both physically and mentally exhausting.

But outside of that they did very little.
They controlled the midfield for the majority of the game and fell short by not tracking runners to the top of their box. Sure, we created very little in the attacking third, but had 58% possession, 1.49 xG (Netherlands had 1.67), were more accurate in passing, and had more big chances missed than the Dutch.

Again, the talent on the US team is mediocre because it is a bunch of country club kids whose parents basically paid for their opportunity to be in the training.
You have no fricking idea what you're talking about.

This is why soccer will never improve until that corrupt system is scrapped.
I cannot wait for the WC to end so you people can crawl back to your cave on the OT board.

Can you cite 2 examples, not including this game? And teams not coached by Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho or Diego Simeone.

The mere mention of these three in the same sentence triggered my PTSD.
