I’m loving these linking passes and runs. It’s so new and fresh.

I remember the Mihailovic fan club meetings used to be sparsely attended. No longer!

Was a bit of a shaky first few minutes, but I think we dominated most of the half.

Some concerns showed up but the team showed a lot of promise. It was refreshing to see the pressure being applied and that we were getting shots fairly often. USA dominated like we should.

Just trying to think how some of this will translate once we start getting the A team players in.

I am very optimistic.

We look like we have an idea of how we want to play, our shape, and passing patterns.

Add some missing (much needed) structure to our current 1st XI player pool and we are immediately competitive. Young, but talented.

Baird gets the ball in dangerous spots, so that should not go unnoticed, and he played a nice ball to Djordje for the goal, but he wasted a lot of golden opportunities.

If he can play this metronome role, like he used to, and let guys like Adams and Mckennie play box to box, then he can be useful to the first team.

Have to disagree about Baird. Great spacing, figuring out what international play is like (admittedly), and has an assist on a beautiful ball to the top of the box.

Pass was solid, but wasting opportunities.

True, but for his first cap and figuring out what works here and what does not, I’d say he has done just fine. ESPECIALLY in terms of his spacing.

Interested to see how he goes about his one v ones in the second half, because you are right in that he didn’t look too technical with the ball at his feet. I don’t necessarily think that’s the truth, but rather his nerves are affecting his execution with the ball.

What drives me to say that is the poorly executed Meg attempt. Was the perfect time to use it, he just couldn’t make it work.

Yeah maybe I was a bit harsh but the meg attempt really irritated me. Play the cross or get a corner. You’re not Messi.
