Now I see why Bedoya always passes, but I love his workrate. He plays defense

See my comment of him bring the consistent 6.5 FIFA guy that never hurts you in the game. Busts his arse but isn't amazing on the offensive 1/3.

Altidore and Wood play different styles and have different roles. I'd rather have Jozy in the 23 for his physical presence than Wondolowski for his vaunted "poaching" ability.

Nagbe and Pulisic could be dirty in this match in about the 75th minute. Need a lot of defensive coverage from them though.

I don't think I'm crazy for preferring Nagbe in midfield over Bedoya

Bedoya does all the shite work off the ball that makes a huge difference. Makes great runs. Nagbe hasn't proven anything at this level. If he replaces anyone, it should be zardes, or when bedoya's legs fall off.

Who said bedoya sucks. FFS why are some people so butthurt about a valid criticism? Tell me one thing Bedoya has done well in this tournament beside "work hard" and gets in a good position, which should be mandatory of every player on the roster.

Yes, agreed.

Wood > Bacon > Jozy > Morris > Wondo.

Or something like that.

Not the American way. We fly about helter skelter, arms and legs flailing.

That's who we are. We outwork you, out hustle and out muscle. It's not pretty, but it's effective.

"tell me one thing Bedoya has done this tournament besides two really important things that I admit that he's done"

cool argument

Excellent runs. Consistently holds the ball wall. Great tracking back on defense. Great defense (including that great slide tackle at end of first half). Basically everything besides being involved with goals.

Edit: I see my serial downvoters have followed me from the poliboard.

Working hard is worth a ton. This is what makes or breaks the USMNT.

I never said those two things weren't important, but those should be at the very least expected of every player as a bare minimum.

The reason Jozy should be dropped is we do not have a player of similar style that can replace him when he is hurt for every tournament. During the cycles we become reliant on him and play to his role, then he gets hurt and we have no idea what to do. We should be on the Bobby Wood Train. He does and always has had the best touch on the team. He just really sucked at finishing the first 3 or so sitters he had. He's a very good player.

That's how I imagine Florentino perez's personnel decisions start

You are referring to the slide tackle in the box as a great decision?

When you get the ball and break up a counter...yes.

Edit: seriously, who is the downvoter?

Bedoya looks like Jake Gyllenhaal better than he plays soccer.
