I just know the average US sports fan is not really into watching soccer, and many people snicker about it being "gay."

Being that people do this when most ultras around the world would rather lynch a homosexual than have one play for their club, do you think the USSF is going to try to bring in the homosexuals and SJWs or the people you refer to?

You can't tell the difference between a centre-half and a centre-forward, and you don't want to know. We don't want you here. Go frick yourself, Alejandro.

I don't understand what one has to do with the other. If you just watched soccer through the ESPN/FOX Sports lens, you probably wouldn't see much about the ultras from around the world. They'll present the World Cup as an event where everyone comes together and loves each other. They'll present the US Soccer teams and MLS as organizations that love its gays and trannies. So that's the picture that a casual sports fan would most likely see.

I'm not triggered at all. I just think it's stupid to push a divisive issues on a sport we're struggling to grow in our country.

Long term this won't be all that noteworthy. It's also a fairly benign statement.

I’m not a fan of it either, FWIW. I just don’t really see the point in throwing my arms up in the air about it. Soccer has always been a sport in which politics plays a part, whether left or right wing.

Our national team primarily caters to the left, just something we have to deal with. It could be a lot worse. I’d rather be known for doing stuff like this than outright saying we don’t support it and be labeled non-inclusive by the rest of the world like Russia, Qatar, etc

Yeah, I get that and appreciate your honesty. I just don't think it helps grow the sport.

I agree. I don't think gay is a left or right issue, but that's another debate that I'm not getting into on SB. FWIW, they could have a Pro 2A month and I would think it was a stupid idea. The National Team should be about bringing Americans together to support our country and put our differences to the side for 90min.

Supporting gay people isn’t going to hinder growing the sport

Wouldn’t participating advocating for equal treatment of gay people be the inclusiveness you are asking for?

I’d rather be a country doing what we are doing than Russia or some Muslim country.

You can support gay people without dedicating a month or a kit to them. Why don't we recognize any other social groups? Do you honestly think more parents will push their kids into the sport if it appears to be a SJW cause? How many more kids from all backgrounds would buy into the sport?

Gay people already have the same rights. The National Team shouldn't pick which groups are special. Just play and represent all Americans, equally.

I get the history in Europe, but keep politics out of American sports.

Well, doing something that looks bad regarding the anthem while representing your fricking nation is going to get you sanctioned.
