They should have left Bale up top, and included Andrés Iniesta.

I don't think it's truly a first match all XI as it apparently includes performances in previous games

That player barometer is weird

Yeah, it's past opinion and into the realm of outright absurdity unless the person putting it together only watched a couple of the matches (which is likely the case).

Even Giaccherini --who played mediocre as hell aside from the goal and should lose his starting spot-- should still 100% be there ahead of Ronaldo just for converting the same chance Ronaldo completely swung at and missed . . .

Bonucci was an obvious choice at CB.

the barometer, according to UEFA's website, is based on a sophisticated algorithim which evaluates and ponders all statistical data. A system based in mathematics should be of maximum reliability, but the reality is quite different.

They went on to talk about no Iniesta and no Modric, and WTF with Cristianito?

He's not bad for someone plying their trade in England.

The barometer is stupid. I guess the only way to get people to actually pay attention to shite like this and the Castrol index is by using it to fill out a "team of the x." This Azerbaijani bullshite went a step further by creating a stupid algorithm that would spit out controversial results in order to get people to actually talk about it.

I guess they were being intentionally vague, so that they could actually squeeze an article out of this horseshite:

quote:

Player data from qualifying formed the initial basis for the rankings, which have taken into account performances for club and country from 1 January 2016. This gives a unique and comprehensive evaluation of players' form when UEFA EURO 2016 kicks off, after which the Barometer will track which players are excelling in the tournament itself.

quote:

Once UEFA EURO 2016 starts, statistical events (e.g. goals, assists, tackles, saves) for the 552 players will be given a significantly higher weighting to maintain an accurate ranking of those performing well in France.

Clearly, it worked

Must include players:

Bonucci
Hamsik
Payet
Modric

Bale is also a good selection.
