Yedlin was Newcastle's major attacking threat yesterday against Chelsea. That fact means he'll be out of position, but Newcastle doesn't have any drive from anywhere else.

The post was about fulfilling expectations. He's been pretty bad for both Newcastle and the USMNT over the last year and is already 25. By time we start qualification again, but Cannon and Dest will probably be in the conversation for our #1 RB.

He was an immediate starter for Nantes until the new coach came in and was a dickhead.
He started 8 straight games, and picked up a yellow in each of the last 5. Looks like he was fairly poor in the last two games. Nantes has gone from 19th in the table to 11th since he's been benched.

Fair point on Miazga but one half season of poor form shouldn’t be enough to give up on someone imo.

I'm not "giving up" on him, but he's 23 (24 at the start of next season), seems to be at a level between Eredivisie and Ligue 1, and is owned by a team in an even better league.

He really needs to cut ties with Chelsea.

Agreed. I still think he has the potential to play for a bundesliga team though.

Looks like he got the start and played whole game today.

Anyone see it?

He was awesome. Misplayed a few ambitious passes but otherwise did great. Heavily involved in the buildup to several goals, calm in possession, good passing overall, several steals or blocks.

Just finished watching the match. I was very impressed by Adams. His positioning and anticipation is really really good. Watching the match you would think he's been playing with the team for years. He worked well with the other 6 Demme. Great match from Adams.

Yes. He has a motor that never stops, he’s quick and decisive with his play, he has a great demeanor out in the pitch...oh, and it seems like he’s just a great kid all together.

He’s a future goat & captain for the USMNT, and my favorite player out of this new generation.

Yeah, saw one pundit that said he looked like a guy with 200 Bundesliga matches under his belt.

I love the budding friendly rivalry between him and Mckennie as central mids who will anchor the USMNT for the next decade

would've kept him at RBNY

He was absolutely stellar for RBNY and will be missed.

They basically played a double pivot.

If we could find a serviceable #10, the personnel for a 4-2-3-1 is there to be the default formation of this generation. Not giving up on the kid in Atlanta yet, but wish he’d have gone to Europe.

Why isn’t he or Nagbe with USMNT now?

That's exactly what they did; that's why I said the other 6.

Carleton has done nothing to deserve it. Barely played last year.

Both players have had a short off-season and they play a CCL match under a new manager on Feb 21. If they were called in, Atlanta should have denied their release.
