Yeah I remember that. Love Sahin's reactions to calls made against him.

Think Sterling would have gotten red if the ref had seen his kicks at Simpson?

I didn't see the kicks, but he definitely should have got a yellow for the foul on cisse (or was it ba?) later

I would much rather Mo Farah or Spike Lee to serve as the most notable Gooner.

Did y'all see he was at the LSU-Bama game?

Just thought I'd throw that out there

The no-card slide tackle on Cisse?

No. He kicked out at Simpson about mid-way through the second half.

eta: kicked out twice, I should say. Was really dumb.

Hmm. I was watching a British feed so they may not have shown that angle. If it was anything similar to Colo's I see no reason why he wouldn't have seen red.

Don't know why he didn't get carded on the slide tackle either. He's played a significant number of matches for us this season and I think he's starting to realize what getting fouled in the PL feels like compared to the reserves. He's lost his temper a few times recently and gone in with some bad challenges which he didn't do in the first few matches. Maybe he's trying to show the league he isn't the little pussy his frame makes him out to be? Idk. EIther way he should have gotten a yellow for that slide tackle.

It was different than Colo's. Ref gave a throw in to Newcastle after a tussle with Sterling and Simpson. Sterling, on the ground, kicked at Simpson twice.

Certainly sounds like a card.

Bob and I both saw it in real time in the corner of the screen and both were convinced he was about to see red. It was absolutely worth a sending off. I'm sure after they watch the tape this week Brendan is going to go ballistic on him.

As long as he doesn't say "steady" to him, he'll be alright.

Maybe he should re-examine his running style then I thought he (Stirling) was very lucky not to see red.

I'm ok with Collo being sent off for intent, although considering he did think better of it and pulled out of the tackle I would have been fine with him just seeing yellow as well. Of course, the only contact ( and it was minor) was a grazing of Suarez's heel I would definitely have shown Suarez a yellow for his rolling around on the ground holding his leg.
