We have too many mids. Meireles is old, still has resale value, and doesn't fit in the plans. Get money for him while you can.
Well if we do we need to take that money and put it towards a quality defender opposite of johnson

Guess I was wrong. Bedoya signed on a pre. Joins up in Jan.

I hope Johnson doesn't start. We have better defenders. I think it will be:
Kelly-Carra-Skrtel-Agger
And once Agger gets hurt, Johnson will be the replacement.
We will sign a LB though.

Celtic bringing in Grzegorz Sandomierski on trial. Young Polish GK with 3 caps. I'm thinking Pletikosa for short-term, this guy long-term.

it's ok, I can say that, I'm Catholic
but really, the red lion-dragon (or is it dragon-lion? seriously, that is a messed up lion) is fired up just like the rangers because they are quite literally

Don't think the two are related. You'd think that considering Barca's debt, but they aren't.

Barca has become what they always despised. It's like Red Sox fans complaining that the Yankees spend too much.

No, this means the rich got richer.

Hun bid for Murray Davidson rejected.

wm72 boner -- Bojan to Roma is official
Posted on 7/22/11 at 11:19 am to Leauxgan
That's the biggest no-lose deal ever for Barcelona.

Also, Fabregas has failed to recover from his "injury" and isn't going to Germany with Arsenal this weekend.

The Italian outfit will pay 12 million for the player and the agreement includes an obligatory repurchase clause to be exercised by FC Barcelona at the end of the 2012/13 season, for a cost of 13 million.
This purchase can be blocked by AS Roma, but in such a case the overall cost of the transfer will rise to 40 million euros.
so barca is loaning bojan to roma for 2 years, and paying roma 1M for the transfer
if roma wants to keep him, it then will cost 40M?
so possibly a 53M (euro) transfer?

With his contract off the books for two years they come out in the green either way.

By then everyone will know if he'll ever live up to his considerable billing, so at that time he might be worth it. I don't know what happens if Barca don't exercise that option though.
Barca tried to do this with Fabregas, offering us players with a buyback option, plus 25 mil.

If they decide to keep him, it would be 40M total. Not 13 + 40= €53m.

I've been reading about the Bojan transfer and supposedly Barca--more than a club, a cutthroat business-- tries to sell almost all youth players that show any promise this way.
If Bojan really were to blossom into one of the absolute best strikers in the world in 2 years time I guess Roma may pay the 28M remaining.
I read that they've sold a lot of players in past 10 years this way but never actually exercised their option as it would create a lot of bad blood between the clubs.
Supposedly Roma and Barca are playing nice these days cause of Pep and Enrique so I guess we'll see.
I think Bojan will be a good addition to Roma, especially since he'll be able to give Totti more off days without a huge dropoff but I'm not so sure he's gonna be seen as the type superstar that would cause Barca to burn bridges to get him back in 2 years time.
Most likely scenario here is that Bojan is good but maybe not 40M good and the teams will renegotiate if he continues at Roma.
I'm actually more excited that we seem to be on the verge of seeing the Stekelenberg and possibly Kjaer deals come through at least according to the players themselves.
