I'm very curious on the "specifics" of it, because if he was always planning on returning to training tomorrow then you think he would've released this statement at the beginning of the week when everyone was going nuts.
Harry, or his team, must think the fans are fricking retarded.

Sounds like this Romero deal is a loan with an obligation to buy similar to Lo Celso. I don't think they had an option since a player can't transfer to two teams in one window, but it's still brilliant.

Great business, get an incredible defender and still have money to spend this summer. Paratici has been on point so far

Lol Kane is surrounded by idiots and he himself is also an idiot but he’s supposed to be.
Anyways, loving this rebuild. In addition to the deadwood, wouldn’t be shocked if we end moving a surprise player like Dele or Ndembele

After the Ndombele saga this past week concerning him not being fit because he just had his first child, and questioning his future at Spurs if Sissoko & Aurier move on, I’m pretty much done with him. If Levy can get close to what he paid I hope he sells.
As for Dele, he should be playing with Milton Keynes again, and I’m only half joking.

Even I'm cool with selling Winks at this point
I do hope that Spurs keep Ndombele though.

If the window closed today, are we better?
Defensively, the addition of Romero definitely makes us better there and hopefully Rodon has taken the next step. We all know what we are getting with Dier, Sanchez, Aurier and Davies. Curious to see how Sess looks. I haven’t watched much of him to be honest.
Mid field could be really good. PEH and Skipp locking down a double pivot would be awesome. Then we have a Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dele option up front. Would love to move Winks and replace him with new blood but probs won’t happen. Assume Sissoko is gone.
Up front is where it gets interesting. Will Stevie take the next step? Will Kane be distracted? Will Gil be good? Will Nuno insist on playing Lucas as the number 1 on the right? Lot of questions here. We are going to miss having a scoring option like Bale around. I’m actually a little worried we will see a drop off here.
My analysis says we are a little bit better because of Romero but also not sure the offensive production will hold up.
If we can close with a Serge replacement and a legit scoring option on the right in addition to a Kane backup then we could really surprise this year.

At this point, I think it comes down to Nuno's ability to implement a recognizable style of play. Upgrading on individuals will only help so much at this point.
Also I'm hoping he turns Bergwijn in Adama Traore lite.

I don't believe we are a top 4 club but I do see this as an interesting season. I'm with BCK and want to see how Nuno does and see if he can get any kind of offense going. If our mids can't break the press and keep possession it won't matter how good we are upfront. Defensively I think we will be better than we were last year and if we are we could challenge top 4? Maybe?

We should be better defensively even if Romero is the only addition. Elite CB’s like Dias, VVD, & Maguire impact everyone around them. I honestly think Romero is in the same class or on the verge of joining the same class as those guys. That being said I don’t think we’re done adding at the back. Also, I agree that a lot of this will depend on coaching and the ability to find the best formation for this squad to create balance in attack and defense.
PEH is class in his position and I’m optimistic about Skips potential. The area I think we need the most help is AM. I don’t think we have a true #10 on this team unless you consider Kane’s contribution. Adding a #9 like Vlaholic to allow Kane to continue his role of creator would work. I’m not convinced that Lo Celso, Dele, or Ndombele are up for that job. Eriksen was the real creative engine when we were at our peak under Poch. I think Ndombele would be elite playing next to PEH with a true #10 ahead of him. His ability to break the press and breakdown teams in low blocks is so important.
Up top it’s really gonna depend on if Kane stays and where his mind is if he does stay. If Kane leaves that #10 is going to be even more important. Son is elite on the left. Between Stevie B, Moura, and potentially playing Gil as an inverted winger I feel like we should have enough. It’s hard to judge any wingers based on last year because they played the majority of the game in our own half. We essentially played a back 4 with wingers as wingbacks last year lol.
My expectations are probably lower this year than a lot of people. I really just want this team to establish an identity under Nuno and gain some respect on the pitch back. It got depressing listening to pundits and half time shows just shite on Spurs and their style of play under Jose. It was the only thing anyone talked about when mentioning Spurs. I think 5th is best case scenario this year unless there are some major injuries to Chelsea, Liverpool, ManU, & Man City.
All that to say I’m ready for some weekend morning football! COYS

Trying to make sense of this Martinez news. Definitely a Kane replacement right?

Reports are that he's not a replacement, but I'm not buying it.
And MattyV, I agree with pretty much everything you said there. Expectations and all.

On a different note anyone else seeing the big red flag that Lo Celso is involved in this squad and Ndombele isn’t. I know Ndombele had some paternity mixed in, but his lack of fitness after not being involved in Euros is a big head scratcher for me. As much as I absolutely love his talent and celebrated his singing when it happened I’m really starting to wonder if it’s gonna work out. I can’t imagine how a professional on 200k a week can’t maintain fitness to feature in a single pre season game.
Also, interested to see Tanganga at RB today.

Yea Ndombele is just going to be that player that we all know his potential and we catch a glimpse of it but he will never put it together here. Doesn’t really want to be here deep down and probably wants to be back in France with his support system. If we can move him on for close to what we paid then just do it.

I don’t care that it’s a friendly, I love beating Arsenal!

Is there a trophy for going undefeated in the preseason? It would be nice to have a trophy. Any trophy.

Does anyone have any up-to-date info on Martinez? I want this to happen but I am seeing a lot of conflicting reports.

Ali Gold is considered a Tier 1 source for Spurs. He says it really all depends on Inter’s liquidation situation. Ideally we would pair him with Kane in a 4-4-2 but obviously if Kane is sold we have to go after someone else like Vlahovic
