In ownership news, Cain Hoy has officially bid on Spurs. That group is linked very closely (and has some key members from) the Dodgers ownership group, and they sure as hell like to spend.
it's funny reading the brits reaction on reddit. they are obviously not familiar with what they did with the dodgers.

Well, to be fair, most Americans buy things to turn profits where a lot of Princes buy them for toys so they don't mind losing money to win. At least that's the way I see it. I'm thinking if this goes through it would be awesome for Spurs!

It is good for them to stay in the competition as long as possible, but NOT win it. It taxes their clubs way more in the PL the longer they stay in, so helps us out.
I don't say I root for the Gooners, just don't mind if they win a few games!

Few questions as a new Spurs/EPL fan ahead of the match:
1. We're in the Europa League, which I have gathered is essentially the NIT of European soccer. Is this right?
2. Do we have a realistic shot at winning this cup?
3. Do you record the games and try to avoid seeing the score until you watch or do you keep track at work?

1. Bingo. Although this is the first year that the winner gets a Champions League spot next year, which is pretty huge.
2. Yes. We will probably try to use lots of players until we get to the quarters or even semis. Then we will probably really go for it. It's tough to balance injuries and fitness levels, so you can't just play the best 11 for ever game like FIFA.
3. Yes. Recording the Europa games was my only option last year. The early matches won't be on TV though. Knockout round will all be on Fox Sports.

My ATT Uverse guide says we're on Fox Sports 1 today.

Yep, 12:30. Just saw it on my Dish lineup. Just got sick and have to work from home the rest of the day.

0-0 is gross but at least Spurs are home next week.

If we win every home game and draw ever away game, we will easily advance out of the group, but road wins are huge in group play. Would have been nice.

only real chance, Kane watched the ball fly right next to his forehead.

“The fans have been unbelievable with me,” Bale said. “They’ve supported me through the bad times and believed in me and I’ll never forget the great European nights at White Hart Lane. They were amazing.
“Tottenham will always have a place in my heart. I hope the fans still love me even though I’ve moved on. I hope they understand that obviously Real Madrid is a massive, massive club and that they respect my decision.
“From the moment Real Madrid put the offer in it was obviously difficult. [Tottenham] was somewhere I felt so comfortable and so happy - it was difficult to leave but when Real Madrid come in it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“I love all the Tottenham fans and hopefully one day, you never know, I could be back.”
