We just tied fricking West Brom at home. I did think Lamela played way better than Chadli. I also think Rose needs to learn how to cross. If a Man City player was in any of this positions, it's almost an automatic goal. We need to be more clinical.

Lamela looked good besides that pathetic dive. We should have had a man advantage for 30 minutes but we still should beat them. 20 shots 1 goal is terrible

Lamela did look better today. Although he had a nice give and go with Ade and tried to pass instead of shooting. He definitely needs to cut out the diving. That's pretty embarrassing. And, of course as soon as I lead the Gylfi parade he has a pretty lackluster day.
The most frustrating thing though is still the lack of goals from open play. Relying on set pieces and PKs isn't going to get us anywhere.

Still a long way to go to. Man city is beasting. Will be hard to crack top 4 but hope we can
Posted on 12/27/13 at 1:29 pm to Westlakeguy10
This team won't crack top 8 if they don't learn how to score in the open field and allow teams like West Brom draw them at home.

I'm not really confident we'll get top 4 but I just want us to play the young signings like eriksen and Lamela consistently to get them game experience to build for next year. It has to be hard every game having different guys shifting everywhere and now we just switched coaches.

I agree. I no longer see Top 4 as expected, so I want us to focus on making Eriksen and Lamela into stars.

Alright! Lennon already pissing me off 5 minutes in!

Paulhino has been
so far
Ade doing his great play followed by something lazy thing (should have been attacking back post on that good cross from Lennon instead of watching the action)

Paulinho has been absolutely unbelievable today. He has just been so confident. If Soldado could have finished that play, it would have been goal of the week. So many confident plays from Paulinho. He looks like a City midfielder. If only Negredo could possess Soldado.

3 goals! I may do a backflip!!
Great shots by Dembele and....GASP...Lennon!,

Yes. Soldado should have scored one, maybe two more. He is just not playing well at all right now.
I thought Lamela looked really good, other than the horrible tackle. I hope he can get an opportunity to start soon.
I don't know what Sherwood said to Paulinho, but he is now playing like a Brazilian. I will now refer to him as Paulinho the Brazilian in this thread.

Don't forget lennon's beautiful pullback right to adebayor's feet 10 yards out and DOH. Definitely should have buried that.

Lamela was definitely encouraging today. You can see his talent. I just really think he needs more time on the pitch with Ade and Soldado.

Paulinho looked great I hope that injury isn't too bad. Lamela impressed again I want more! 3 goals woo!

I decided not to mention that since Ade has played well for us. Soldado has been absolute shite. He has been getting chances lately and still can't convert. Pendado it is.

I so glad we finally scored but man did we leave a lot on the pitch. There were several beautiful gives in the box and we wasted them. I like Saldado and think he will start to put them away but how many chances is he going to get? Ade I don't know what to say but he has to bury that one. Paulinho is a beast! If Lamela can come on, he and Paulinho are going to be tough to stop.
It's funny, the 1st half of the season we couldn't get the ball to our forwards to save our lives, now that we are getting them the ball they are making me think the mid fielders were on to something the whole time LOL.

I agree, the last two matches have been meh, but he did do a good job forcing the hand ball in the box. That was a tough ball to get and he did a fine job on it.

I think AVB can take a lot of the blame for ruining Soldado's form. And players do miss easy ones. Manchester City does it all of the time. The difference is that they create so many chances that players who miss score a few minutes later.
This new style that Sherwood has us playing seems to actually be giving us legitimate chances. If the strikers can start putting solid shots on goal, we will be deadly.
