A lot to ask beating Reds
not so sure about that.
they have clearly checked out and we have played them pretty well this season.
im not expecting anything, but i think we def have a decent chance at getting a point or more.

They’ll be up for Chelsea unless Klopp sits everyone but why wouldnt he it play his best side? I really think this is coming down to needing to beat Wolves. What happens with ManU against West Ham next will be interesting.

Injuries? Give rotation/youth players some game time?

I’d be surprised if klopp risked injuries on a trophy he’s already won

Im sure theyll play a strong side, i also think Klopp will try to squeeze in appearances for players on the fringes of qualifying for a prem medal.

Odds the Blues make top 4? I say about 55%. Not confident going into Liverpool because they are lifting the trophy before the game and there’s no way they’ll play a bunch of second-teamers after that. And Wolves are always scary to me. We should hope for a ManU loss Wed then win over Leicester in the final match.

Chelsea needs to forget about Havertz and buy two really solid CBs. Wolfsburg would be willing to sell John Brooks. He has a questionable injury record but I think he’s better than Rudiger and Christensen.

Did something recently happen with Kante to sour him on the team? Hearing that he's looking to move on, with one possible landing spot being Inter (Conte apparently wants them to offer "Lukaku money" to make that happen).

so the gist of your post is chelsea should ignore all the incredible luck that brought them to the top of the queue in signing one of the best u23s in the world, and should start looking at players like John Brooks? like Havertz's potential deal would leave us in a position to miss out on signing a 20m oft injured out of favor CB?

Yeah Brooks is damaged goods and aging- not a good combo. Trust Frank.

Inter and Real Madrid rumors have been around for awhile. I dont think theres anything to it. Kante has only publicly stated hes happy in London fwiw. wouldnt put it past the club to at least listen to offers.
hes had a shite year, personally and professionally. outside of the injuries, hes in a pretty nasty lawsuit in france against his former agent or something. dude apparently threatened Ngolo about some money a few years back, and now is suing.

Kante is always a blue, he may yet leave one day, but I’d be really surprised if it were in this window. OTOH I will be surprised if we don’t sell Jorginho, when we do it’ll be one more reason to keep Kante.

Read it again, not the gist at all. Chelsea has more pressing needs than buying Havertz. They could get two really solid CBs for the cost of Havertz. Brooks, while injury prone, would be an immediate improvement over who is currently starting for Chelsea, is not expensive, and he was healthy for most of the year. Feel free to disagree, but Chelsea and Arsenal have the same problem of going after attackers when the problems start at the back.

Buying Havertz does not preclude us from addressing CB also. Roman is lining up a spree. He’s making a statement of intent, and I like it. I think he’s been searching for the manager he’s willing to spend like this for first.

Would be really nice to get three points today and not have to worry about Wednesday
