That's the thing. We have money to spend. We've actually had the books fairly balanced for the last 5 or so years. I think our net spend over the last five years averages about 25 mil per season. We should be able to drop 100-150 million to fill out the squad without breaking a sweat. As I said above, I'd be thrilled to bring in world class players, but I'm really just wanting solid squad players at this point.
You have a stadium to pay for. It ant America with the tax payers footing the bill.

With Slutsky at Hull, this makes sense.

I'm going to die inside when Tammy bangs in 15-20 goals this season or next season and we sell him.

Fabregas is an absolute liability in our current system. Unless we go 3-5-2, Fabregas is totally worthless against anyone except bottom feeders in the league. The midfield has zero balance with him paired alongside Kante.
Fabregas is a total liability defensively in any system. He's useful in two places. Either behind the striker, or with 2 defensive minded partners in a midfield three. That teams are going to 3 at the back to maximize width means he's a luxury player. I think he should go to a team that will give him the protection that Pirlo got at Milan, as he is such an amazing passer from deep positions. Without protection, he doesn't really fit in anywhere.

Carlos Vela signs with LAFC as their first DP
Posted on 8/9/17 at 4:57 pm to StraightCashHomey21
That's a good one. He's only 28.
I'd love for LAFC to take an Atlanta approach to roster building and surround him with some young DPs and high-potential Central or South American players.
I want them to punch the Galaxy in the mouth from their first season.

The Galaxy should be very worried. They are the most recognized team in MLS, but they've picked a very bad time to have a poor season. They run the risk of becoming the forgotten older sister when the younger, hotter sister arrives back in town.
Carlos Vela is a fantastic addition for LAFC and don't be surprised if they get Andres Guardado, too. El Tri fans would be on suicide watch if two of their best players joined MLS the year before a World Cup. Bryan Ruiz and Keisuke Honda have been mentioned as targets, too. I expect LAFC to make a big splash next year. This won't be Chivas USA 2.0. This ownership group has serious names, big money, and big ambitions.

Is Chelsea attempting some sort of squad challenge where they'll try to win the league with just 18 players?

yeah, European football usually means you try to strengthen squad depth...
there must be some plan in place... has to be..

I don't make jokes about Manchester spending. At this point I envy it. I make jokes about SCH making jokes about Manchester spending. Try and follow along here... This is 4d level chess I'm playing.

Nah bro, when we need goals he's crucial and saved our arse more than one occasion last year.
