academy kid Clarke-Salter is apparently getting called up as well, meaning Miazga's chance of any PT this year just took a hit.
when Miazga was signed, a few academy brats tweeted out some "confused" emoji thinking that Clarke-Salter deserved a shot before some other kid, let alone an American. they kinda have a point, regardless of my man-crush on Miazga. guess it will all be settled in the next few months training.

Dick move by the academy kids. And is an academy kid really better than Miazga, who was arguably the best defender in MLS last year? Surely MLS is better than U21 EPL.

id def think Miazga is more ready than an 18 year old academy kid, but i really dont follow the academy very much so i cant speak to more than what ive read. so maybe one of these other guys have a more informed opinion.
there is alot of pressure to start integrating some of these kids up, and if nothing else promoting a well-respected academy prospect works as a gesture of good faith.

Great finishes. We played with swag for the first time I can recall this year.
We had one one touch flicks in this match than the entire year. The movement was strong and the creativity reemerged.

I also think CB could be good for Ivanovic. I've always preferred him there. Gives Baba a chance to play some and allows Ivanovic cover on either side. Plus he's decent attacking the ball in the air.
Ivanovic as a CB has always been in the cards as he ages. I think now is the time. He can be a damn good CB. Baba getting more opportunities is a good thing. He and Azpi could lock down LB/RB for the next 5-7 years.
