40. Jay DeMerit
The 6'1 CB was a mainstay at the 2010 World Cup and 2009 Confederations Cup. He made 25 caps in a USA uniform, while starting in the Premier League for Watford, a team he mad 183 caps for as captain.

Made 82 caps for USMNT and started in the 98 and 02 world cup. Dubbed the Human Wall during his immaculate run of play in the 2002 WC. Spent the majority of his career with Blackburn, making 287 caps, and Aston Villa, making 114 caps. Played for Liverpool and currently plays for Tottenham.
2. Claudio Reyna
Made 111 caps for the USMNT, and captained the team during his tenure. Was a stronghold in the Midfield for the team for 12 years. Played for Man City, 87 caps, Sunderland, 28 caps, and Rangers, 64 caps, during his career.

Has made 156 caps while scoring 57 goals for the USMNT. Will have played in 4 world cups, if he flies to Brazil. Has played for Bayern Munich and Everton

Also, this thread works better as 1-40, not 40-1.
How the frick am I supposed to know if somebody rates Eddie Pope as #31 or #21?
We should be able to come to a consensus on each number as we work our way down the list.

Agreed. Starting at the top is much easier

Although it would be easier to go from the top down I think he was going for the "unveiling of number 1 on the first day of the World Cup" effect.

By starting at the bottom, you'll end up at #1 with both Donovan and McBride still to go.

We were just saying if you want us to participate you need to start at the top. If you want to do your own unveiling go right ahead.
