What does the team need? I’m thinking a backup forward, a rb and a defensive mid or someone that can take care of the back and allow lo celso to play higher up the pitch in a more attacking position. I feel like he’s starting to get annoyed with how deep he’s having to constantly drop.

Yeah solid RB/LB and DM signings would be incredible. Our best years were with Rose and Walker flying down the wings and Wanyama destroying in the middle.

Mourinho basically has said he can’t have Ndombele and Lo Celso on the field together because he has to use winks and sissoko as cover so Lo Celso gets the starts. A solid DM would free them up to play together unless Mourinho continues to banish Ndombele to the shadow realm

Having Sess play Aurier‘s role on the left is an interesting thought. I really like Tanganga and think he has a future here, but if we want results now we probably need to bring in an experienced player who is not too expensive. Don’t know who that would be though.

One other thing, sessegnon hasn’t been bad but he hasn’t been really good either in his limited opportunities he’s gotten so maybe Jose doesn’t think he’s good enough right now. We don’t have a Davies for the right side that will just do their job either.

Aurier in the Starting XI just a few days after his brother was murdered.

Genuinely hope he has a good match.

Nice win. Seems like we are starting to play better than we have in a long time. Sports are so mental.

Anyways. My take on what we need:

RB. Serge has a few good moments here and there but they are widely overshadowed by his absolute frick ups. We can’t really compete with him there.

DM. I love Sissoko buts it’s time to move on and I have been vocal about my view of Winks. We badly need a real star here. I had hoped it would be Ndombele but he is either to lazy or Jose is in an a-hole. Doesn’t matter. He is done here. We need a replacement at the same level as Lo Celso has been.

Backup striker. Ideally this is a younger player that can play some real minutes and also be given consideration as the starter if/when Kane wants to head out. Maybe can play a wing or CF as well so he can log more minutes.

From there I think we have to figure out what to do with all these wingers and CAM types. We have in no particular order the following guys fighting for spots. Sort of seems like a waste at times.

Dele
Lamala
Lo Celso
Lucas Moura
And potentially Sess

I’d bet we see one of them moved out. Call me crazy but I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s Dele since he can probably get us some nice cash back and we have Lo Celso and Son who have both looked much better in that role.

For the back line. I know Toby is here next year but not sure about year after. We have a 3 man rotation of dier, Toby, Sanchez. Not terrible. Not amazing. Potentially another signing here.
